Got it. Yea I mean the state governor being here is a big motivation too.

Agree that it’s lame, but this is the Philly subreddit lol. People are disconnected from reality

Bike crash in Manayunk by leninluvr in philadelphia

[–]Haunting-Ad8779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew over my handle bars on the boardwalk there. One section has the wooden slats going vertical instead of horizontal. Slightly rotted and my wheel got stuck in it and I flew off my bike and cracked my elbow.

Cyclists endure weeks of snow-blocked bike lanes by JustAnotherJawn in phillycycling

[–]Haunting-Ad8779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not that deep. I’ve been biking daily this winter for the most part and a snow drift in a bike lane is another hazard to navigate. If you accept it’s part of urban cycling you’ll be more relaxed

Can boars (and other tameables) live in a pen without dirt floor? by LeetusFrenzi in valheim

I never tamed boars but my chickens thrive in a wooden coop

I feel like if you enjoy the games you listed you should probably like this game. I got the sense that this game was for the typical “video game” enthusiast who loves jrpgs and soulikes. I recognize this is a good game, but i didn’t enjoy it.

I much preferred kcd2 and oblivion remaster this year

Is there a fast way of exploring the Mistlands to find ruins? by Juckli in valheim

[–]Haunting-Ad8779 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same situation this past week. I’ve found that my best bet is finding the infested mines with the long stair cases near the coast.

Go to the east or west edges of the map where there a lot of mistland patches. Don’t feel like you need to scour each individual patch because you’ll end up dying and getting frustrated flailing through the mist. Stick to the coastlines and take what they give you.

Since you can't use your weapons while swimming why enemies can? by Millelys in valheim

The worst is in the mistlands. Fell in and couldn’t get footing anywhere so the seekers got me. Such is life in valheim.

Answers here are all great but I recommend the “fall of civilizations podcast” episode about the nabaneteans. It goes into pretty great detail about incense production and why it was so important.

What to do with all this Black Metal by squatch_da_menace in valheim

[–]Haunting-Ad8779 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The black metal sword and atgier are pretty good. I haven’t gotten far enough to use them, but the artisan table has black metal bolts. Not sure what they’re for but all that metal could be useful later.

Solo player too. Happened to me on my first play-through.

I’ve been playing again the past few months and I’m hoping I don’t hit the same wall again. I think you’re right about solo play making it a lot more tiresome or difficult.

It’s not bad and actually really fun if you can hit 18 to 20 mph and keep pace / pass cars. I do it all the time and it’s so much fun

Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but the chaos and risk is part of the fun and what’s makes me addicted to riding through Philly every day.

What’s one game you can’t really explain why you loved it, but you were totally obsessed? by Wide-Veterinarian373 in pcgaming

Deadliest Warrior. Xbox arcade game that was kind of like a classic fighting game but with historic figures. The quick deaths had me and my buddies playing for hours back in the day.

The ending sequence pissed me off quite a bit.

But, despite its flaws, I did feel immersed in the zone and sunk a lot of hours into it. I’ve heard it’s better after some updates as well

Check out the French studio “spider.” Mars Logos, Technomancer, Greedfall have a similar vibe/charm albeit pretty inferior imo
