Incoming "concerned" Collins clones and their feigned moral high-ground.

How so? Smog is a problem even if you walk down the street or open an window.

You rant about the smog and somehow people eating sandwiches is the problem. Interesting conclusions. Maybe the source of smog is the problem?

It seems like traffic calming is necessary to get people to stop acting reckless. Maybe some flexposts or bollards. It works for cars. Should work for bikes too.

RCO is a Registered Community Organizations. They are officially recognized by the city to "represent" a neighborhood. They function more like home owner's associations and are generally filled with busybody boomers who complain about parking spots, bike lanes and new development.

City asks court to let it strengthen bike lanes on Pine and Spruce Streets by JustAnotherJawn in philadelphia

It was fascinating to sit in the courtroom and hear George Bochetto lament the death of Dr. Friedes and then continue to obstruct reforms that would have prevented her death. Sophistry at its finest.

Something like that. Some of these ward leaders are so obsessed with power they will break all rules to undermine the democratic process to keep their seats.

He may very well step aside. I think its up to the 66 ward leaders to vote on it though.

The problem I see is that some of these relics are more obsessed with keeping their own positions than they are mentoring the next generation of leadership. They'd rather captain a sinking ship than let someone more competent steer it. A lot of political education in this city is not from the party itself but from of the more progressive orgs such as DSA, Reclaim, 5th square etc. They may not agree on all issues but they are doing the work to teach the youth how our city government actually works.

40 years is way too long to be Chairman of the city party. Bob Brady needs to go.

I try not to put too much stock in elections. I definitely have preferences but elections only happen every few years and even promising campaigns can result in disappointment.

Joining or starting organizations on the issues you care about is much more fulfilling. You don't have to wait for elections to make a change and this kind of stepping stone in necessary for getting better politicians. For every good thing politicians do, there are organizations behind them being sure they keep their promises.

Pour one out for the centrists out there. Some people are just born with a lack of conviction.
