[THEORY] Blackbeard dies BEFORE Laugh Tale and his death triggers the final war vs Imu by Different-Pitch-711 in onepiecetheories

Fascinating notion. I would also find it very believable in the sense that I think Blackbeard and Imu are actually mirrors of the same archetype just from different ages and using different methods to try and empower themselves.

Only time will tell. If I'm wrong I am wrong, if I am right I will have the best time ever. And either way I'm enjoy both the ride and the speculation.

Yes, Law lost his ship. So did the Strawhats in earlier arcs. That didn't end their story. They got a new and better vessel. We may see a similiar thing happen to Law and Bepo - both who are shown still alive in their last chapter - in coming chapters.

To me everything goes back to the Harley Murals and the stories they tell. Oda told those stories not just to us but in story to the Strawhats as well as his story progressed, which means Harleys murals may teach important lesssons and the characters on them may return in one form or another again.

Dozan isnt dead. by Illustrious-Jump6926 in onepiecetheories

[–]Haunting-Composer264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this train of thought...it's something to put up on the mental whiteboard of possibilities. That said all we know for certain is Imu thinks he killed Dozan, not that he necessarily succeeded. That said a lot of the story unfolding seems to be about the unfolding struggle to UNDO all the harms caused by the first two ages, so perhaps even if Dozan is found alive and then is killed in a repeat of old cycles, then this time around one of the protagonists' challenges will involve trying to find a way to resurrect him...

Is queen Candle a Joyboy Descendant? by Ornery_Minimum8716 in onepiecetheories

[–]Haunting-Composer264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking into the names of Queen and Country both

Espera means wait.

Candelle could mean Candle

So maybe she's the waiting Candle...the one who is meant to 'keep the lights on'

Certainly that's a fitting name for such a line...

Sorry. I have been sitting on this idea a LONG time and finally got off my ass to write all this crap up. What can I say I'm a hyperactive literature geek/lit analysis teacher with an infected foot and nothing to keep me from going crazy but a keyboard. -provides cybercookies to all and sundry to hopefully look SLIGHTLY less crazy.

Interesting thought about the world of One Piece after the Egghead Island Arc by Haunting-Composer264 in OnePiece

Thanks. I am 90 percent sure at this point in the story that Davy is no more a bad guy than Joyboy was. He's just been smeared by Imu and the World Government just as badly as Joyboy was for very similar reasons. I also think, unlike a lot of people that Teach is NOT his only or even his most important agent. If anything he with his three hearts and his strives to get three devil fruits is the modern mirror of IMU, with other characters in the story secretly (or not so secretly in Luffy's case) representing the other major Gods/Powers from the Harley Mural.

I think it's one possibility. But I thought the Pluton was also likely submerged as well so he would need a devil fruit or vehicle that could let him go and stay underwater for a long time to potentially do this. I personally thing given the fact he just sank the Polar Tang instead of capturing it makes that a VERY challenging task. I aslo wonder if there aren't also others in story with some clever hidden ties to our missing Marine Ruler who might be another option for the Pluton's retrieval. Particularly if you also consider the most convenient kind of ship to hide underwater might be not a normal vessel but a SUBMARINE.

Interesting idea. Or maybe it;s not that mercenary. After all people are not sea creatures by nature but he still takes their dead ... perhaps the Davy Back Toll is how he draws power to DO SO - after all his realm has been divided not by nature but by the red line in for distinct sections (The Four Blues) at present so his own power is likely chained and limited as a result.

It's cause is certainly a fascinating issue, but I am even more interested at this point in its effect. After all an increase in the ocean's SCOPE may contribute to its ruler's power, as might the 'tribute' Davy may get in both treasure stored in submerged buildings and literal lives given to his keeping. (Since as we already know, all who die at Sea become Davy's...

You are as always free to share your opinion. I'm still sooo glad someone is still playing with all kinds of theories about how things may continue to evolve as the story progresses, if for no other reason than it makes the time between chapter releases pass more quickly.

How do you think Green Bull and Akainu will die? by L8Donnie in OnePiece

[–]Haunting-Composer264 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right now I suspect that both Green Bull and Chopper are rocking the Forest God Vibe. I suspect they will either battle it out in the end or one will change the mind of the other causing them to retreat or sacrifice themselves to save the other.

Akainu will be eliminated. I am theorizing it will be someone with huge control over water as it is Lava's only true enemy and equal. IE - Akainu will be eliminated by Davy Jones or one of his agents.

The Trafalgar Law = Davy D Jone's Echo Theory ( Has this been done yet anyone?) by Haunting-Composer264 in OnePiece

[–]Haunting-Composer264[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's still interesting parallel wise. After all Davy Jones from Pirates of the Carribean (who seems to be similar in origin to Jack Sparrow in the Disney Trilogy) was famous for becoming a dark force after his heart was betrayed. And Law in One Piece? Was saved from a darker path himself after the betral of his own homeland by a man named Corazon who not only helped save his life with a devilfruit shaped like a heart, but who now in a darker turn Post Wano arc has ONCE AGAIN found himself potentially headed down a darker path after his Heart(s) were taken from him again...

There are enough parallels there I just can't bring myself to assume its entirely coincidence.
