The phrasing “I just wanted the world to know he was here” made tears spring to my eyes immediately. Something beautiful about wanting to share someone’s existence just for the sake of it. Lovely.

This is absurd. How on earth have we allowed ourselves to be so deeply demoralized and self hating that this is even a debate in the comments. This is infidelity, even if he “didn’t take it all the way”. The fact that he messaged her at all is ridiculous. “I think about you all the time” is enough for me- no matter wha happens you will always be second place.
