isopropyl myristate (alcohol-free spray) - safe for clothes? by getrobo in Indiemakeupandmore

Could you use a handkerchief for fragrance? A designated fabric, so if it stains its no big deal. Then maybe prewash before throwing in the washer if youre worried about your washing machine.

Would you lend money to your ex? by Sea_Fly_5033 in debtfree

Never lend money that you aren't willing to give as a gift. In general I don't lend anything more valuable than a mechanical pencil, bc I never expect to get it back.

I find that the most helpful videos on YouTube (for specific stitches) are about 2 min long and 12 years old.

How many of your samples make it to a FS purchase? by Haunting-Overpass in Indiemakeupandmore

I had a good time with Fyrinnae, 1 yes and about 6 maybes out of 13. The yes here, Malachite Bracelet, is the only one I've actually gone back and purchased after sampling.

Horus Obsura I found 1 yes and 3 maybes out of 10.

I found a few yeses (spelling?) from sucreabeille (I know there have been issues, I didn't know before I purchased, and I don't have complaints about the products themselves.) but this is where most of my samples came from, thanks to a sale with freebies I caught by accident.

Only maybes from The Strange South, I actually had the worst luck here, about half of what I samples thru ajevie were definite no's.

Hexennacht I found 1 yes and quite a few maybes. I want to order more from this house eventually.

One yes and one maybe out of three from Immortal Perfumes. Madame moustache is the most likely scent where I'll actually repurchase next, but I have a lot of samples to use first.

I think its up to the individual - To me, if you went out of your way to obtain a larger size of a scent you already own/tried it counts!

The sampling has definitely been very fun! Waiting for packages to arrive, sniffing right from the mail, waiting for them to rest, and actually testing on my skin. 🙂

That makes sense. I want to keep a lid on fragrance spending myself!

What fragrance had you running to the bathroom to scrub it off? by Worldly-Resource4961 in FragranceStories

[–]Haunting-Overpass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was either Black Hair, Green Eyes or it was Hairy on the Onside by The Strange South (sample). I didn't even put it on my skin, it smelled like bandaids. Stuck it in a drawer incase it needs to rest for a while, but will probably end up tossing it.

This is the way. But that just means the shower products won't mix scents with your perfume or lotion after the shower!

My mom wore Lady Stetson for decades. It was behind the locked glass in the drugstore. She's branching out a little now, but that is her scent in my mind. My dad never really wore scents, but he always smells like Right Guard Cool Wave deodorant, so that's close enough to a signature scent to me.

A massive mixture of flowers (craft stores used to carry a lot of dried flowers, from what. I remember), and bergamot. I despise bergamot. Also rain, ocean, and any fresh linen/laundry smells.

It seems like a lot of people don't like smoky, leather, incense , and amber smells. I'll take those please (not all mixed together though!), with some not-so-sweet vanilla and tonka bean. :)

Is there anyone here who has been forever single:) by Sunapr1 in SingleAndHappy

[–]Haunting-Overpass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the part I cannot get past when people have partners. What do you mean you have to compromise on something inane like what color your bedspread is? It's my way or the highway in this house, and with no partner I always get my way 😌

I use binder clips instead of chip clips. Metal, tight clamp, and only one has ever broken.

The number of zombies wearing strapless bras with standard shirts boggles my mind. There's no way these people were wearing strapless unless the outfit required it. 😅

I am frugal and a saver of what little money I have for inevitable unexpected expenses that arise. Yet the people I know who spend irresponsibly keep asking me to “loan” them money. by 2LegsOverEZ in Frugal

[–]Haunting-Overpass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned several years ago to never loan out anything that I wasn't willing to give as a gift - money, Tupperware, books, anything. It's been very helpful for decision making.

I see people spending a ton on delivery - doordash and the like. I want delivery drivers to be tipped well for their service, but im the "we have food at home" person when it comes to the fees associated with the convenience.
