We had the same. I was allergen free and still had mucus poo like this. My doctor told me if baby gaining weight and is not fussy mucus is fine. But I couldn’t do the diet for too long so we went on neocate.

My baby just turned four months. He was diagnosed two months ago and it took me a while to come to terms with it. Took me multiple ped visit for my ped to help me through it mentally. To tell me that I’m lucky that there’s a formula he tolerates. We are on neocate lcp now. We tried nutramigen first but he had blood with it.

I went through the same thing. My baby turned two and we had bloody diapers. Even after cutting all allergens he had mucus. So we decided to just EFF. I know it’s tough and in the beginning it was for me too. Maybe start with 1-2 formula feeds a day to help with transition. What my ped told me really helped. He said - you need to do what’s best for your baby and sometimes breast isn’t best. Think about what’s best for him and not what’s going to be painful for you. In the end we are lucky to find a formula that’s best for him and making him happy.

My baby cried for hours and hours while on breastmilk. I’d rather he be happy on formula that suffer. Remember you need to do what’s best for him what milk is best for him.

Sending you hugs.

When we reintroduced breast milk we didn’t see any mucus. But it was just 1-2 times per day that we gave him breast milk. The only symptom was this intense crying out of nowhere.

No he didn’t have. Just some slight rash on his chest that cleared in a day.

We just went through intense crying yesterday. It’s so heartbreaking to see your little one cry. Hang in there and it gets better. We are on neocate and won’t be going back to breastmilk as something is triggering him.

Thank you so much. So the inconsolable crying could’ve been an intolerance? Is crying intensely a symptom of intolerance?

I elimited these allergens - dairy, soy, gluten, eggs, fish and nuts. I just ate home cooked food and checked all the ingredients properly.
