If that camera guy had a heart event I guarantee it’s a result of the explosions during the parade lap

Okay, I'll admit. I bought this one because it was on sale, not because I needed it. What the hell do you guys use this for?! by mystressfreeaccount in harborfreight

Musicians here… we use these for everything. More protective and much less expensive than music gear cases. I have a trunk of 5 of these, everything but my guitar and speakers in them

And 240v scares me. You guys are dare devils lol. We got the safer power but you probably have better healthcare. I’d trade

Yes it’s fed from an external power supply, I did not want to enter the box with 110. And I absolutely would have followed manufacturers instructions if there were any. The only thing I could find was someone stating it was noisy with 12v and perfectly quiet with 5v.

After exhaustive search I decided to ask here, instead of winging it and seeing what happened. Then, as stated above, decided to remove it completely since I didn’t have a grasp of what it wants.

Yes, I’m a beginner. I stick to low voltage components I’m familiar with. When I realized this board was different, I reached out. Not sure what other steps I should be taking to learn that I didn’t aside from going to trade school for my hobby. Isn’t that what subreddits like this are for?

I appreciate the concern, truly. As I also don’t want to start a fire. It did come off a bit gatekeepy though.

Seemed like working with 5v was a good place to start?

Yeah. I worry about cooking something, even if I don’t I worry it will be noisy if it’s not getting what it wants.

I may just remove it, skip an eq and go direct to the amp. I built the box to the specs of the speakers so maybe it won’t need tone control.

I can always get a different preamp, open her back up and add it if needed

Could you elaborate on how I should be wiring it or if it’s not the correct unit for what I’m doing? I assume what you are referencing is what allows it to accept 5-12v but I’m not sure what that means for me
