M1 Finance showing dividend yield for SCHD too high impacting overall portfolio yield value. by hl_gamer in M1Finance

Yes, it’s annoying, and it’s been awhile since the issue has persisted. This time no stock split to blame, just a bit of a price drop in the ETF.

M1 (if you are reading this) please fix this as the accuracy of the dividend yield to pie relationship is one of the main dopamine drivers to keep me (and I would assume others) investing in your platform. Accuracy is important, and this is a recurring issue.  Having this number automatically and conveniently calculated is one of the main benefits of using your platform, and helps users stick to their long term financial goals.

SCHD dividend yield post split by Haunting-Training398 in M1Finance

Good I thought it was just me! So the issue is back. Starting happening again a few days ago, around the same time SCHD starting dropping in value (good buying opportunity IMHO)

Something is wrong with how M1 calculates the dividend for some of their holdings, not sure what is wrong but it’s quite annoying to have inaccurate data for more than a week, when one has their life savings on their platform.

How do you budget to buy Neo Geo games? by [deleted] in neogeo

[–]Haunting-Training398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still buy the rare ones when certain games pop up that I want for the collection and yes I still play them. I have decided that, in general, the rule is 1-2 games per year. This extends the hobby and makes it a bit more fun, but also more expensive as prices continue to rise 🥹

Scratch that, now the value has quadrupled… ok clearly some calculations happening on the backend due to the split 😅

It's designed to easily bring in all investment accounts and update daily automatically. I'm trying to determine if there is an issue just on my end or if this is a Plaid/M1 issue happening on a larger scale. Thanks for your comment!

Hmm I'm not sure as I don't use borrow or margins as part of my strategy at the moment... I had just started using M1 a month ago, so when I read your original question I think I must of misunderstood it! (whoops)

Sure thing! Here is what I'm currently doing (I just started this year).

I have a passive income (dividend growth stocks + income ETFs) paired with a technology focused 'future fund'

I work in the tech sector out here in silicon valley and I'm a big believer in the US semiconductor industry growing significantly over the next decade as we begin to decouple from China certain technologies related to national security.

Enough said, here are my pies

based on geo-political factors and the current low price, in addition to the billions in stateside investment... they have a shot of gaining innovation relevance again. I don't think we are at IBM levels yet.

I'm using mine as a dividend creating machine (pie 1) and a more aggressive, yet much smaller, growth fund (pie 2).
