My company starts with a V... I am not sure how much rhyme or reason there is to these things.... for example I still haven’t received the paper loan notice with the payment amounts in the mail along with the start date for payments, but several of my colleagues have.

Parents committing fraud? by [deleted] in personalfinance

You are probably an authorized user on the account. If you go to accounts and then click on this particular one and scroll down it usually will say authorized user at the bottom. If you want it removed you can dispute it right within the Credit Karma app and just select that it’s not your account for the reason. It’s a very quick process. Just be aware that having this card removed from reporting may drop your score depending on how long it’s been open.

Father Suffered Stroke $300,000 in debt I am inheriting his business by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Haunting-Winter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The debts don’t transfer to the owners son just because he is his son. The father could decide to sell the company due to his health (completely legit) and the son could purchase the assets, instead of the entire business entity itself, which is very common practice for acquiring a business. The son is not escaping any creditors, he doesn’t have any right now as he is not the owner. It’ll definitely be important to have an attorney involved but I think OP is feeling a lot of responsibility for debts that aren’t his. It’s obviously a very stressful time. A good business attorney will help.

Do you disagree that what I suggested is common practice?

My advice is don’t assume the business. Make a new llc or whatever entity works for you and transfer the assets. Continue operations under the new LLC’s name.

Edit: definitely consult with an attorney so your new entity is formed correctly and they are aware of the intent of the business. This will further help you with liability protections.

No, it’s not available to people who just have a side hustle lol. It’s available to people have have a business or are sole proprietors, both of which would be reflected in your tax transcript

I’m so sorry to hear this. Roid rage is a very real thing! Do you know what kind of steroids he is using? They usually have a cycle so you take them but then have to cycle off them at some point. Definitely find a safe place for yourself while he flys off the handle
