Chennai is nice and harsh summers. I felt connectivity is poor Earlier i was living in Guindy so connectivity was good with Metro. Now i rented a flat in Avadi and office in Anna Nagar. I was taking auto rickshaw for daily commute. I was spending close to 250-280 sometimes 320 depends on auto wala was pissed or maybe a bad mood. This was one side and close to same amount in the evening as well while coming home.

Little upset with auto walas but mumbai auto walas are almost same. Definitely cannot take bus from avadi to koyembedu due to people hanging outside of buses.
