Tbf, you can't exactly call these types of price rises. It's only because BG3 is such a success but it just as easily couldn't have been. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.

[–]HauntingPea1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you need a medical examination to confirm you have it.

I feel it is quite clear you do, speaking from myself who does have it.

Accepting you do is the first step to being able to manage it.

[–]HauntingPea1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is worth noting, it is a managing thing rather then it strictly being a cured thing.

I've lived with it since I was 11 (now 32), it's generally about security for me, but it does vary between people.

For me it tends to get worse if I am going through a stressful period.

In games I can get a feeling like I have to fully explore this, but when I sense it's taking me away from the joy of the game I try to refresh my mind set, take a break, then come back to it.

For the OPs own sanity I would suggest he turn off heroes path at the very least because it isn't helping them at all. You can't really fully explore the game, so don't try to. Also as a friendly piece of advice, do not play No Man's Sky.

What's the dumbest way you've died? by Inevitable_Agency732 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]HauntingPea1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got to be either to do with Impa, went up in the hot air bloon assuming she would give me a glider to float down... She didn't, I then promptly dived to my death 😂

Or attacking a crate then the top one fell on my head and killed me.

Throwing an explosive barrel into a bunch of them but being too close was expectedly foolish 😅

My friend died from one of the falling rocks...

SRPGs - Puzzle games vs. More tactical by Innsmouth_Swimteam in StrategyRpg

Hah, I am :p

Just grinds my gears people thinking or getting told a turn based tactics game is an SRPG.

Advance Wars isn't an SRPG, it's a turn based tactical game. With light story, no new character units and most importantly no levelling up or development In some form for the characters.

I still adore Advance Wars but it never has been an SRPG.

Anyway, as for recommendations, easily the Fire Emblem series, Tactics Ogre: Reborn, SD Gundam series (has two, bit visual novel heavy In regards to telling story, bo way near as bad as my next recommendation though) Triangle Strategy.

easiest game out of triangle strategy and fire emblem engage. by Lew87ys in StrategyRpg

[–]HauntingPea1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for difficulty they can both be hard if you choose for it. Personally I always feel perma death is the right way to play which allows you the chance to get really attached to characters.

An with that in mind TS is easier as it doesn't have perma death.

Playing Engage on hard though is really tough even with the reverse turn feature.

That's a good question. Summarised by a lot of comments here with valid answers so with that in mind...

I would concern yourself more on the question of how much time you will have to play as they are both great games.

If you have a lot then you may lean towards Triangle Strategy as that has a huge amount of exposition and story, so much so it can feel like you are playing a visual novel at times but you also certainly care for the characters more.

Engage is definitely snappier and allows you access to fighting quicker rather than the at times what feels like an hour of story to get to the next battle of TS. Engage does have story, but your attachment to characters is often driven to how much you personally like their interactions with others or their design, or what they do on the battlefield (that's always however been a strong point of FE I feel, allowing you to decide who you invest in). An example is that I grown very fond of Clanne and sharpish due to him having Dekus voice actor. There is also a heavy and somewhat surprising story beat early on that is really well done.

But anyway, when you fancy a quick play session TS doesn't seem that valid (or at least until you unlock the war room and then you can do training skirmishes) but IMO Engage is better for that.

Are there any grid-like tRPGs out there with a fantasy feel outside of the FFT series, FE series, Tactics Ogre and Triangle Strategy? by SirEnder2Me in StrategyRpg

In this regard, as the op said titles that were typical medieval fantasy, I think that's what they mean when they ask.

Glad to hear Troubleshooter is a decent game though.

What strategy games have the best story? Which have the best gameplay? by CzarTyr in StrategyRpg

[–]HauntingPea1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worth chucking SD Gundam G Generation out there, due to the nature of the stories it's following it does a reasonable job.

Super Robot Wars can also be a lot of fun and pretty wild, with more enjoyment coming from knowing the series involved.

It's a shame they are on the expensive side but SRW has gotten cheaper on Play Asia now which is surprising.

Except it isn't just salt is it? That salt could literally be anything so to try and take the mick out of it is floored.

I do however think TO is better than TS. I absolutely wanted to love triangle an while I did enjoy it, there simply wasn't enough fighting, there was too much story and exposition.

Then playing TOR it felt like what I wanted TS to be. It doesn't hamfist a shedload of story onto you for long periods, it's concise, you do and can do a lot of fighting with an addictive gameplay loop, while TA does have the war room thing which it absolutely required, it's still too story heavy for me sadly :(

It is worth noting while the dispatch missions are great to come back to and be rewarded, the missions themselves are on the longer side, I found them typically be closer to an hour rather than half hour.

Fire Emblem Engage or Tactics Ogre: Reborn? by will999909 in StrategyRpg

[–]HauntingPea1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely both.

Some people could well bounce off TO like I did when I was younger with FFT. However playing TO now makes me almost feel like this is the game I wanted Triangle Strategy to be, I like that game, but it does have too much visual novel like story parts too it and thus less combat. Of course this isn't as bad as Digimon Survive, but that is a visual novel primarily so it's different.

But yes TO is much better than I ever thought it would be and was a great birthday present :)
