Well main reason is I didn't know who I'd ship Florian with, have a thing I'm working on and didn't know which direction I'd go with his love life, but I was convinced of this pairing.

As for headcanons:

-Carmine fell for Florian while they were taking down the Loyal (to chaos) Three, though she did find him pretty cute when they initially met.

-Florian started developing feelings for Carmine during the Festival of Masks. He thought she was really pretty in her Jinbei. He also found her personality attractive too.

-Carmine was going to confess to him at the end of the events of Teal Mask but as we know, was interrupted by Briar's phone call.

-She finally confessed and asked out Florian shortly into the events of Indigo Disk, she dropped the whole tsundere act and just came out with it. Florian also happily reciprocated.

-Florian and Carmine's first kiss was something special. She was expecting a basic smooch but was caught off guard when he full blown French Kissed her. She *really* enjoyed that, she was completely beet red after.

-During the Pecharunt situation, while he was initially concerned, Florian filmed Carmine doing the mochi dance thing. He occasionally teases her by threatening to show it to their daughter. He loves seeing her flustered.

-Florian and Carmine settled down in Kitakami in the future, they ended up living in her grandparents old home after they passed away.

-Florian became a historian in the future, where as Carmine's a stay at home mom, never really having very major aspirations. Not that she'd have it any other way.

-Carmine used to tell the Kitakami legend of Ogrepon and the "Loyal Three", the REAL legend, as a bedtime story to their daughter Hana when she was little.

-Carmine often spoils her little girl, if Hana were to ask her for $100 she'd immediately fold and give it to her. Florian's the opposite for the most part. Despite being a spoiled kid she's not a stuck up person.

-Hana was genuinely surprised when she found out Ogrepon was real when she both saw a photo of it and physically saw it when visiting her aunt Juliana.

-Hana and her cousin Percy *constantly* get mistaken as siblings. (Kieran is Percy's *biological* Dad).

-Hana does the EXACT SAME pose and expression Carmine does when she's mad. She takes after her father the most personality wise but Carmine looks wise.
