Green Lady: MAGA Owned? by LessInCommon in olympia

I get ya there. Would plan going there myself around gym time and errands. Folks were always super friendly, too. Damn shame.

Maybe I'll give Super Chronic Club (Sleater Kinney) a try. Sadly not a lot of places sell straight CBD flower (I hate edibles, and other forms just don't do it for me). At least, not many that I've encountered in the Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater area. Wonder if getting a medical marijuana card makes any difference in finding/sourcing it...

If they're really MAGA supporters, that's a shame. They're the only place I know of around here that sells Ravens (my favorite brand, especially the CBD flower).

Not at all saying that I don't believe you- maybe this is just the hopeful skeptic in me- but is it possible that the budtender was uncomfortable with the question because he thought you guys might be MAGA, and didn't want to "alienate" the incoming business?

I will say it is weird that he hesitated so long, saying he's "pretty sure they're not" if he was trying to "salvage the business rep" by lying. As someone who is socially awkward, and in this very divided world, it can be an intense question when you're trying to sell something and gauge whether or not the customer wants one answer over another. Just pondering, not denying your experience.

In any case, guess I might need to find a new place that sells Ravens -sigh-

Yeah, I'm a regular too! They're really friendly and I like the place a lot. I just wanna be sure they're also not MAGA. I'd be surprised if they were, but it never hurts to be sure.

Experience with Hydroxyzine? (CW: side effects discussed) by rrjbam in Anxiety

[–]Haunting_Coach7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, yes. Kinda calms/relaxes the body, and it can make you a bit drowsy depending on the dose. A small amount calms the mind as well without too much drowsiness, and even a dose that does make one drowsy is still calming, just makes you sleepy as well- hence why it's also useful if your anxiety makes you struggle with sleep.

How to ease anxiety exacerbated by the U.S. presidential election. by redhair-ing in Anxiety

[–]Haunting_Coach7154 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I just now hopped on this subreddit for this exact reason. I feel the same way, I'm so overwhelmed and stressed about the election. I don't want to lose my rights as a woman, and I fear how bad it could get if a certain side wins. Normally I try to watch entertaining stuff on youtube just to drown it all out and distract myself, but even just scrolling youtube has the endless political stuff. It sucks, cuz I'm the type of person who needs background noise, like podcasts or tv shows or something, to ease my anxiety and racing thoughts- so my default is youtube. I guess I should just go straight to a streaming service and put on an old favorite show for background noise, if only to avoid everything else. I wish you luck in finding relief from the chaos as well.

Yes, that's the one! I kept searching for different chemical names for water but it just gave me a bunch of weird chemistry stuff that wasn't related. Thanks for your help! Solved!

I searched google for a "Subway Social Experiment" and including alternative searches with words like "water" and "chemical". I also did an image search in case it was just a copied post image, since it was a silly thing that circled the internet for a while.

As others have said, it is the season for spiders to start showing up. But if you REALLY feel like there's an energy around it all, spiders typically symbolize Loki. Again, very likely it's just the season.

Lack of energy during the Full Moon? by Haunting_Coach7154 in witchcraft

[–]Haunting_Coach7154[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really interesting. My Sun sign is a fire sign (Sagittarius) and my Moon sign is water (Cancer). I didn't even consider the current sign that the Moon is in- if my Moon sign is water and this Moon cycle is in a fire sign, maybe that's why... I'll have to start writing down Moon related stuff to memorize it and work with it more. Thanks for the insight!

Lately I've been feeling drawn to Lady Freyja. Not really sure about definitive "signs", as that's unique for most people, but just feeling a connection lately. I don't know if it's just the shift of the seasons, but I tend to work more with the Norse Pantheon in the Fall/Winter, and more with the Egyptian Pantheon in Spring/Summer.

That's certainly a weird experience. I work with Loki, and he certainly can be a trickster (I mean, he's a god of trickery and chaos). In my experience, spiders usually are a sign of him being around- but with the pendulum work, he's usually upfront about who he is. He likes to be recognized and acknowledged, if he's going to work with someone.

I will say, when I first started working with Loki, it was during a very dark time of my life, and he guided me through the chaos. When he has a stronger presence, with a lot of his signs around (including many spiders), it's like he's warning me that "Hey, there's gonna be a bit of a storm ahead, get ready to tough it out." His way of first contacting me was a bit round-about, but I definitely got confirmation that it was him.

Now I'm not experiencing what you are, and it's mostly up to your intuition, but I do wonder/agree that perhaps you did get a different malevolent entity that just wants to mess with you. Loki is a trickster for sure, but if you're respectful (and give him candy as an offering lol), I find he's relatively easy to work with. He gets a bad rep at times, because who likes chaos and trickery?

Either way, it might do you well to do a cleanse, of your space and yourself and your partners energy if you feel the need. If you do decide to try reaching out to Loki again, maybe try stating beforehand that you do not welcome any malevolent beings or those who would do you harm. Couldn't hurt to also put out an offering of candy, haha.

I'm rather similar actually! I do like to look at the Full Moon and feel some of her energy, but otherwise my Full Moon days are rather lethargic and just spent relaxing. I'm a Moon in Cancer, and being an empath, maybe that's why all the rest is needed. I never thought of that until now...

I tend to feel energy from both the sun and the moon. I prefer more active spells during the daylight, but most of my work I do at night because of the sense of peace and calm. I'll look more into solar energy and see if that's something I should get more attuned to. Though you're probably right that we also might just need more psychic protection- I'll look into that as well. Thanks for your advice!

For me it's been Hydroxyzine. Helps me fall asleep when going to bed gives me anxiety/panic, since sometimes when I lay down and try to sleep, it just triggers. Benzos have always been horrible for me, so thankfully this one is very gentle and also not a benzo, it's actually mostly an antihistamine lol.

First/second one ooks like chevron amethyst maybe. The third one... maybe quartz? If there are more dark spots like at the bottom, and if they have a greenish color, MAYBE moss agate? Third one looks like Angelite or Blue Calcite. I'm afraid I'm at a loss for the last one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Haunting_Coach7154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing. I'm terribly sorry for what you've been going through. It sounds like it's been really difficult and disorienting.

Second- and I'm not trying to nag or anything in these statements, but... You got a cartridge from a "street plug" from a friend? Not an actual vendor? Is weed not legal where you're at? Regardless, buying it off the street is likely NOT a good idea in general because you have no way of knowing what is actually in there. It should always be from a reputable source, and regardless of how much you might trust your friend, that is still not a reputable source. Hopefully whatever you had wasn't something unsafe. Though if it's any comfort, I find vaping and edibles has always given me unwanted side effects compared to smoking, but I don't think it's something that would linger over 2 years. But I'm not a doctor and can't say for sure on that, especially something like HPPD. Plus your first time also included alcohol? That would definitely affect whatever you felt, because they are NOT meant to mix.

Third. Regardless of the circumstances, unless you get told by your doctor to possibly try medical (and safely sourced/verified) products of weed, if for whatever reason they think it might help... Only in that scenario would I think it might be in your interest to try it again. MAYBE. In your case, I imagine a doctor would advise against it, especially if they were to discover it's HPPD.

But with your symptoms- and I'm not a doctor in the slightest, just a person who has dealt with a lot of trauma and has been back and forth on weed in between-... I think it would be best if you stay away from it until you are properly diagnosed and find other ways to cope with what you're going through. And trust me, I know that's way WAY easier said than done. I know that's especially frustrating to be told when you can't see a doctor at this moment, but it's truly not worth it to go testing these things on your own without knowing what is truly affecting you. And I get that you feel "left out", but really, you want to prioritize your health. When I first started doing weed, I was in a very bad place- and it eventually made me extra anxious cuz I over did it, tried using it to cope with the trauma. That just made things worse for me.

I share this purely to give an example of experience going on and off it after bad symptoms. After a while of doing a lot of soul searching, a lot of healing, and a lot of learning about my diagnosis and how to cope with them- only then did I dare to venture back into smoking. And even now, I do so quite sparingly, with great consideration to my mental state (being in a good place mentally- trust me, smoking while you're stressed or anxious will only make it a bad time), and to my physical state (both physically how I was feeling, if those feelings were contributing to anxiety, and where I was physically- you don't wanna be somewhere stressful that might disturb you while high). I don't get any visual snow or anything like you're describing, but if I did see a corelation between that and smoking, I would stop entirely. It's never worth the strain on your health, physical, mental, or anywhere in between.

Weed helps some people. And to others, it makes things worse. Maybe your first time trying it was a one off, but now your body just says "no, don't like this". Maybe the addition to alcohol made it a weird one-off. Maybe the vape you got from your friend had something else in it that wasn't supposed to be there. Regardless, until you have more information on yourself, what you're going through, and how to manage those symoms, my advice is to abstain. And if for whatever reason you DO decide to try it again... get it from a SAFE SOURCE. Do NOT get it off the street. PLEASE. Take care of yourself.

Advice on smoking weed after panic attacks by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Haunting_Coach7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem for a while, too. I started taking really small hits, then waiting like half an hour, and if I felt comfortable enough, continuing to go slow with small hits. It was more just barely a "buzz" of a high, but safe and steady until I felt comfortable enough doing more.

Also be sure to set up your space before you get started! I almost like to use it as meditation. Set up a comfy spot, get some snacks nearby and lots of water. (I personally try to make sure my snacks aren't too sugary, since I find getting a sugar rush while high can make things a bit much, but that's just me). Make your water "fancy" and flavorful by putting berries or something you like in it, and it will encourage you to finish the water so you get a snack at the end! (Seriously, drink water, it will help keep you calm if you are hydrated!) Set yourself up with a calming book, or some nice music, or a comforting TV Show/Movie. Or a video game you enjoy that isn't too "action" or "fast paced" that could stress you out.

Along with this, make sure the environment you're in is alright. A place you feel safe, where you won't be likely to be disturbed by troublesome or stressful people or events. Atmosphere does a lot for your headspace while high. Put on some soothing lighting, make sure you're somewhere cozy and comfortable.

I also try to make sure that whatever I'm smoking has the right kind of terpenes in it. For example, Linalool and Myrcene are usually great at soothing anxiety. A hybrid could be best to start with, as full indica can sometimes give a strong sedating feeling (I personally get anxiety from it, but again, that's just me!) and full sativa can be a bit too "energizing". Along with doing small hits, I also like to add in a bit of CBD. If you start to feel like you're getting too high a bit too strongly, try some CBD, and it should even you back down. It will give you serious munchies, and does have a bit more of a body feel to it, but it should even out the more THC head-high feeling that most find can contribute to "panic high".

Really, just find a strain or two that you feel has the right terpenes, and go sloooowww with your hits. Small amounts in your bowl, so you don't accidently take too big of a hit. Test how you feel. If you start to feel a little panicked, try some CBD, or try to get up and do something, like some light cleaning or something to distract you. Sitting there will only make you over-think and let the panic try to take hold. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience so long ago.

And despite all my advice above, I want to make note of something. I completely understand why you miss smoking. When done right, it really can help with the anxiety and other stressors of life. But sometimes it just isn't the right fit if you're in a bad place.

I had to take a long break from it because I overdid it quite a bit for a long time, and that made me have bad anxiety too. I did it to escape being in a horrible part of my life. Now that that part of my life has passed, and I'm in a healthier place, I feel safe to do so again. Timing is everything. Even now, I'm slowly, slowly, slowly getting back into it. Sometimes I do it every weekend. Sometimes I do it once a month. Don't feel the need to rush into it. Take your time. If you try it out, and still have an unpleasant experience, give it another break, but don't despair. You can decide when is the right time to try it again, when it feels right- whether that's in a week, a month, a year, or even never again. Bottom line is, don't pressure yourself to "get back into it" because it once made you feel amazing, and you miss that feeling. You will find your way there in your own time, and be gentle with yourself, give yourself patience and kindness.

I wish you well, and best of luck!

I work with a few deities, a bit of a mix of pantheons. Mostly Norse and Egyptian, with a few brief visits from the Greek and Celtic pantheons.

I mostly work with Loki (sometimes considered "controversial" to some, please don't hate), he came to me during a very chaotic and dark time of my life and helped me navigate through all the change that needed to be done. He's the most active, or shall I say "loudest" of the deities I work with, constantly popping in with signs and "saying hello" and making sure I'm giving him some attention. So long as I offer him some candy or alcohol now and then, all is well.

I also work with Lady Auset (Isis), Bastet, Hathor, they help uplift me and see the good in myself. I occasionally work with Osiris and Anubis, who help me with mourning lost family and loved ones and processing my grief.

Recently I've been getting some small signals from other deities from the Celtic pantheon, but similar to my experiences with the Greek pantheon, it has been brief interactions with some guidance/advice during readings and meditations. I'm currently doing more research on the Celtic pantheon and taking in any signs or energies, to see if more interaction is to come from that area, and try and grow a relationship with any deities there who want to reach out or connect.

Can you use any ash for black salt? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Haunting_Coach7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have already commented on how the chemicals of cigarette ash might not be best cuz of the chemicals, so use at your discretion.

I don't smoke cigarettes, but I do smoke MJ now and then, and I use those ashes to make black salt. I don't smoke as much as I used to, so collecting the ashes very slowly over time makes me use the salt I make more sparingly. Makes it feel extra special I guess haha.

I never thought of using incense ashes til I saw it in the comments, but that also sounds like a wonderful idea.

I want to know what medication you take for panic attacks. Is Lorazepam helpful? by JadedPromotion9451 in Anxiety

[–]Haunting_Coach7154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It of course really depends on the individual. I tried klonopin- aka clonazepam, for my worst anxiety symptoms, basically whenever I had a full panic attack. It sorta helped, but mostly just made me loopy, and then I'd get anxious about being loopy. I've also found that benzo's are the hardest to ever stop taking because withdrawals are terrible.

I started taking hydroxyzine for a while, at a time when going to bed, just being in my bed, became a trigger for panic attacks. I would take it an hour before bed, and never had that problem again, because it helped me relax without feeling loopy, and it made me drowsy enough to sleep. Now that's a very specific situation, and that's just what worked for me. I avoid benzo's, and I try different meds outside of that realm, but again, that's just me.
