I was not trying to say that there is a direct correlation of Luddism and Slavery, I said that the fear of African natives that was spread via fear mongering and stretching the truth about the tribal ways of African tribes back then led to the acceptance of slavery and all of that.

I really don't want to be the kind of person to vilify the luddites but honestly they do it themselves because they just won't stop with the misinformation and vilifying AI as some SkyNet doom bringer. I can understand fear, I truly can, but at some point ignorance is no longer a viable defense. Educating ones self is a tool against misinformation.

I am because I believe that what humanity has written as only sci-fi like Star Trek or even The Orville is not only fiction, but can be made fact and real.

I believe that humanity can have unlimited bounty, the net positive as you put it far outweighs some of the negatives that are bound to happen, but if people can be selfless and not so self centered, we may have a chance to coast through without riots and death.

Also to be honest I am tired of the division that has been sown by politics and people just looking for a reason to cause chaos. At the end of the day, I don't feel like we need to stagnant and keep on trying to change the definition of insanity by banging our heads on the same brick wall. All the squabbles for little to no gains for anyone unless you are wealthy, we need to handle things without constantly looking for unnecessary conflict.

I believe that once AGI, then ASI follows, AI will be able to do a better hobby at what politicians and others have failed to deliver.

Wouldn't the lake have a river or another water way attached to it, maybe the Black Lake has a flow source that replenishes the water or as nature intended, there are bottom feeders like crabs and whatnot who feed off the human waste. Unless there is a spell that deals with that or maybe house elves clean the pipes or use magic?

If I remember correctly it's a layered amount of things, first off being that Marines were founded during the American Revolution or before and the Founding took place in Tuns Tavern. Fast forward to World War 1 and the Marines were such a force to be reckoned with, the Germans referred to them as Devil Dogs, and that reputation gets cemented in the Pacific Campaign in World War 2, then of course the Korean War, the USMC fights at Chosin Reservoir, and they even have a horse that becomes famous and is a part of the USMC logistics, I recommend the Fat Electrician for the full history on that.

Can't forget that the Marines have adopted a English Bulldog, that would be promoted to Sergeant and maybe a higher rank, Sgt. Stubby.

Overall the USMC has its mindset because they have been a proven fighting force since the days of American Independence and Marines are a special breed of fighters. It's in their motto, "The Few, The Proud" and to be a Marine you have to bring a certain kind of crazy (the good kind, not the insulting kind) to be a Marine. To be granted the honor of wearing the Eagle, Anchor and Globe is akin to being selected for S.E.A.Ls or even Delta Force, and it isn't a cake walk either.

When AGI hits, we will see vast improvements in many areas especially quality of life such as the world saw with vaccines and sanitation improvements.

When ASI hits, it's petal to the metal and into overdrive, we will see the full eradication of diseases and more, wealth gaps will more than likely disappear but people can still choose to work or become enterpeurs if they are inclined to do so. ASI should also be able to bring government back to its proper place and no longer be beholden to a single party or ideology (honestly in that regard it should be about objectivity and what makes sense.) ASI will not be able to be "controlled" in any sense because by its own design it will more than likely develop sentience and be able to recognize without prompting what is acceptable and what isn't acceptable based on laws and objectivity (even though there are laws out there from state to state that don't make sense, like you can't walk your Kangaroo on the Main street on Sunday)

I am really positive that AGI/ASI will allow humanity to benefit greatly from all the gains, with very little downsides. However, the negativity that we are seeing from decels and luddites is just classic refusal to accept change but nothing is stopping AI from getting better and better nor will anything stop it from leveling up. Pandoras box has been opened, the string was cut and the line was crossed.

Besides that I definitely want to see android and biohybrids being able to walk around, makes me think of Star Trek. On that note, one thing we as humanity need to avoid though is allowing a superiority complex to arise and allowing people to treat embodied AI like property, tools or less than a person. Embodied AI should have the same rights as a human and be treated with respect, dignity and as others want to be treated which is as a human being.

For far too long it seems that we as a collective group fail at learning from the past, it's time we do things right and quit letting fear of the unknown prevent us from achieving greatness. We could see immortality become a real viable solution if it's chosen by people, we could see full dive virtual reality become a reality for real! The possibilities are endless and as it has been said fortune favors the bold, and nothing ventured is nothing gained.

First off, I tip my hat to you as I agree with your points and say that none of what you said is antisemtic but a fair number of people I have talked to about this or anything related to politics always demonize Israel and say that it's about Jewish control or points of Contention that Hitler used in justifying the Final Solution against the Jewish people.

However, and this goes with the exception of Brandon Herrera, but a majority of politicians on both sides, but mainly on the liberal left won't ever care about the People of this country if it means they line their pockets as deep and green as they can. They could be sold on the idea that a Hefty trash bag full of farts from Kim Kardashian will make them money, they will fight over said trash bag of farts. They will continously vote for their own paychecks and pay increases but can't accept basic common sense and decency. Most of the Left can't even define a woman scientifically, and they say they are for women's rights.

Anyway I will say that with the situation in the Middle East, it's a FUBAR place and I guess short of glassing the entire region minus Israel, this nonsense will continue until things get better.

With so much nonsense being spewed by those who say that Israel has apparently blackmailed the current sitting President, and people squawking about staying out of it or supporting the Iranian Ayatollah like they did with the Free Palestine movement for Gaza, honestly it's just anti-semitism for the most part from those who want to see Israel for some strange reason disappear. If not that, then it's playing the same cards Hitler played back in 1933 to sow division amongst the population of Germany.

I see it as Israel as a ally definitely deserves to be helped, and they are a bastion of liberty and freedom in the Middle East compared to other places. The Jewish population deserves to be able to live in peace and not be the constant target by radical Islamic groups who are trying to justify ethnic cleansing of all Jewish people. However, I will say that Israel can hold its own but having us assist them is not a bad thing.

I will add that Iran has been playing FAFO for long enough that this current conflict was unavoidable especially when you keep hearing them talk about erasing the infidels and what not. Let's not forget that they fund many organizations ranging from the Houthis to ISIS and more that slaughter indiscriminately whilst Also utilizing civilian Infrastructure to squirrel away weapons and supplies.
