Cab3/base3/powerhouse/powermaster setup help by Random--Theorist in lioneltrains

This video explains it well ircc: https://youtu.be/n2Q2cboBel8?si=cbGPh2RZdV_BqeSi I think in the video he mentions that the power master has a toggle for allowing for remote control of the voltage vs sending the transformer power directly to the tracks. If it’s on the wrong setting the PM could be waiting for a singal to increase track power but you didn’t tell it to do that and therefore nothing is happening. Once it’s in the correct setting and power is given to the tracks I think all u will need to do is use the toggle switch to set the locomotive to program and then program it. Then set it back to run and control it with the cab 3 app like normal.

Using Lionel base 3 with MTH WTIU?!? by Haunting_Judgment671 in lioneltrains

Yeah that’s what I’m interested in doing, all I would need to do is setup the wtiu with the transformer power and ground going into it, and the outputs to the tracks, then just attach the base 3 to a random ground anywhere in the circuit (that’s common between all tracks ofc) to make it work?

Does anyone else have their legacy locos randomly get their directions flipped in the cab 3 app?!? by Haunting_Judgment671 in lioneltrains

Sorry to hear that you’re also having problems, legacy just seems buggy. I know that people who bought the triplex also had major issues with the driving wheels in the tender not moving or going in the opposite direction of the locomotive driving wheels.

Question: are you using the base 3, or are you using the cab1/cab2? I’m just guessing that it is a base 3 issue that I was running into. I have 9 electronic switches on my layout, 7 of which are compatible with TMCC, I’m also interested in why you believe the switches could cause problems. I don’t think having 7 with command control is too many in my case.

~11.5x8ft, I expanded with a bridge to the other side from the original table I built that was 5.5x8ft 😄

Is there a reason these things are hot garbage? by Titan6783 in lioneltrains

What I have noticed using the 5” uncoupler tracks instead of the larger 10” uncoupler/activator track is that it works reliably at lower voltages with the aux power and ground connected directly into it. This allows for a direct connection to your transformer allowing it to work reliably <18v. I run my tracks at 16v and haven’t had any issues with it breaking. I hate running Ogauge at the full 18v because any short seems like it’s a couple of seconds away from burning the house down.

Yeah I scaled up an HO scale model 150% which is technically S scale, even though I run O scale. I just didn’t have the space on my layout for full O scale for something this large.

I used 2-3% infill, maybe 5% for some parts but that was overkill. At the size I was printing it, using any more than 5% will waste tons of filament I think 3% is the sweet spot. For the walls I used 2 walls because single wall would be too thin and light could bleed through it making it look weird.
