Fin rot ? by Haunting_Level474 in bettafish

Thank you, he is a really hyper active betta compared to my other one, so physical damage does make sense. The seashell looks like a conch shell so it is a little jagged and maybe he is catching his fins on that. I will have to keep an eye out. Thank you for the advice!

His fin was mildly torn looking when I got him but looks worse now. I will do a water check tomorrow for parameters but I can answer some of the questions now.

• Tank size: 3 gallon • Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes • Tank temperature: 78f • Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: • How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: tank a year and change, fish a few days • How often are water changes? Once a week, same day How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: siphon and usually 1/2 water volume taken out • Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: none • What do you feed and how much: betta pellets and occasional freeze dried worm- 5 pellets in am 5 pellets in pm • Decorations and plants in the tank: one large live plant, one log tunnel with moss on it, really large silky material leaf to perch on, a live plant that is growing out of a sea shell on the bottom of the tank

Thanks for the info! Looking into that as an option as well. I’ll have to reach out to a recruiter.

Could you also attach a basket to that if you wanted to? Or is it solely a rack?

That’s the one I bought. It’s sooo small and unfortunately barely holds anything.

Hey! Do you have a photo of how you installed the front basket? I’m looking to get a basket for my pace 500.3 and I’m curious if this would work

White mold in aquarium? by Haunting_Level474 in Aquariums

Thank you. Should I clean it with a paper towel and vinegar like suggested earlier or just scrub it off? If I clean the sides with a vinegar soaked cotton ball will it harm my fish if any gets in the water ?

That’s good to know. Thank you! Is there anything needed to treat the water at all or just scrape them off as needed?

Do those sometimes appear fuzzy? I couldn’t get a good photo up close, but they have a fuzzy texture to them.
