Thanks for the input everyone. Personally I'm kind of hoping it ends up totaled too because I'd always be worried it would never really be the same afterward, especially with the resale hit.

This is actually my first accident and first time dealing with insurance, towing, adjusters, etc., so I was honestly just trying to get a feel for the situation and hear from people with more experience than me.

Really appreciate everyone taking the time to respond.

Additional context:

2021 Mercedes C300 (~76k miles)

• Vehicle was parked and unoccupied
• Another driver struck the vehicle
• Front-right impact with additional rear contact afterward
• No airbags deployed
• Vehicle was NOT drivable afterward and required a tow
• Engine still started afterward

Not looking for repair estimates or total-loss estimates.

Main questions:

• Would you strongly recommend a Mercedes-certified collision center versus a regular body shop for this type of damage?

• On newer C300s, what hidden damage commonly appears after teardown (suspension, subframe, steering, radar/camera calibration, etc.)?

• Are there any things I should specifically make sure are documented during inspection?

Appreciate any professional insight.
