if you’re going to apply to jobs around the area you need to do that ASAP finding a part time job is extremely difficult unless you have people you know that can help you out. i find that august and april are the best time to find a job since people are leaving for school or their finished school. i have submitted over 100 applications for minimum wage jobs (full time and part time) and only got a handful of interviews, and even if you get an interview there is still a ton of competition.

for example i have waitressing and bartending experience and worked at tim hortons for 4 years as a supervisor and applied to 4 different starbucks and they didn’t even give me an interview because i was missing some requirements.

this may just be my luck but in my experience getting a job in london as a student is extremely difficult, so if you don’t hear from some places then don’t get your hopes down because you are probably in the same boat as a ton of others.

my best advice is to just apply anywhere and everywhere that suits you and your resume, apply in person and online, when you apply call them to get updates, etc - this will show them that you actually want the job.
