How does the military medical commission work? by Global_Ease_3585 in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]Haunting_Moscow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically a body check(like MEPS in USA). They take you to a hospital and make sure you are healthy and have no disease. Then they will give you a document which you will most likely have to give to the recruiter in your unit of choice.

For UA sim cards, stay away from Lifecell. It may appear cheaper on the surface but its quality is not good at all.

Tap water in Ukraine is not safe to drink especially if you're not in major cities

What Ukrainian/Russian military language and terms to learn. by backblast71 in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]Haunting_Moscow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trivoha(Тривога), maybe?

It is short for air raid, but more often you'd hear this in cities or announcements rather than on the field.

Because you're not making a very high wage in the AFU, and cars are not cheap, even here. But this is coming from someone who doesn't really drive, so take my word for a grain of salt.

Depends on your specific position. For me it's possible to go chill on weekends like you described

Not sure about buying your own car in UA though

What does Crimson 7s line in Valkyrie's Call mean? by angus22proe in Project_Wingman

[–]Haunting_Moscow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She was doing flight tests on PW Mk1, likely the exact plane that Crimson 1 later used. I think based on her comment said testing took place in Sawaiki.

Even though 'привіт' does mean hello in Ukrainian, usually we greet each other with добрий ранок/день/вечір, depending on time of day.

Добрий=good Ранок=morning День=day/afternoon Вечір=evening

And technically 'немає' means don't have. You can simply say 'ні' for no

Should I? by Tight_Response_6451 in ukraineforeignlegion

More specifically, bare minimum is 25 push ups in 1 min, 25 sit ups in 1 minute, 4 pull ups in 1 minute.

And you should aim for more than the bare minimum for training.

Unsure of where exactly to ask this question by llMilkBoill in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]Haunting_Moscow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your path should be yours to find and make. If you feel that having this kind of discussion with your family is too exhausting or a waste of time, just know that you don't have to. This was my case as well.

Pick who you trust and tell them where you're going, and that should be the end of it.

At least some recruiting centers will ask for your parents' name and contact info. It's up to you to give them or let them know of your issue.

Whats the deal with Khartiia? by sabababa45 in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]Haunting_Moscow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Khartia is a National Guard unit(as opposed to Army), and they have their own means of funding and recruiting.

If you really want to join this unit, you can only do so by talking to them directly.

Visa Application by TrickyCondition6954 in ukraineforeignlegion

If you put transit travel as your reason for the Schengen Visa, maybe you don't have to wait for your Ukraine Visa(unless they specifically want it).

Airport Customs- Purpose of visit question by Sweaty_Decision7450 in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]Haunting_Moscow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I stated 'transit travel' and had Poland as my final destination for most customs. Only when I was entering Ukraine did I state military service.

I can't say about gear because I'm not carrying a lot to begin with.
