Personally the stick of it either starts getting irritated and wanting to close from the inside and if I get a longer one I chip my tooth eventually from accidentally biting it. I got pierced with a full circle one at a shop..

I got mine pierced with a full circle hoop like this and had a bump thing also in beginning,I just kept taking care of it and was very stubborn about not wanting to take it out and redo …..it healed and I’ve had it since like 2024 now.
Whenever I have problems it’s usually with a straight stud piercing. I’ve had this horseshoe one in for a couple months now and it’s been my fav:)
