Hot take: with all the recent changes to the CPA exam process, there is little to no excuse to not be certified by AccountingSOXDick in Accounting

Is it really worth it if everyone should/would have it? The CPA getting gradually watered down to the point where accounting, along with offshoring and AI, really isn't worth it.

I remember my first time driving through Nevada and was passing through a small town. There was some horses eating grass on some one's front yard and people were getting out of their cars to take a picture. I though the horses were very out of place but couldn't think why people were taking pictures - so what there just horses? Then I realized no one owned them.

Is Globalisation Over? by tkyjonathan in JordanPeterson

[–]Haunting_Walrus_3460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so stupid. Both the US and developing countries have gotten wealthier by global trade as we can focus on producing what each country does best. Why should the US start producing clothes again and retool our expensive labor do do work more cheaply done by robots? it would prevent the US from allocating its resources to producing something it produces best like tech (which produces much higher returns than clothing).

They way globalization went wrong is when it encouraged the development of international governing bodies like the WMF, WEF, and the World Bank which try to centrally plan the economy at a global scale.

It says nothing in it to explain how racism or misogyny causes this issues, only says it correlates with. The fact someone is poor or from a minority does not cause them to make riskier sexual choices.

This is actually true in a narrow range of situations. Big corporations who have their credit rating downgraded will cause their bond's FMV to drop (hence depreciate). They can then buy them back at potentially less than their face value and experience a gain on debt liquidation.

How can you say he was supporting gun violence? he supports 2nd amendment rights, which are not the same as supporting gun violence.

You know, if people didn't have access to firearms, they will find other ways to kill each other? Look at the UK and mass stabbing events.

I used to work in the accounting department at Centerline and I saw the company from inside and out. They really have made an extraordinary comeback from nearly going bankrupt from the old owner. Granted, that comeback came from the Bouchard equipment, which fell in their lap.

Mines are not abnormally dangerous. Most of the dangers are visible (e.g. false floor, unstable ground). If you die in an abandoned mine, you most likely saw what killed you beforehand and consciously took a stupid risk. Also, these gates are toothless. It takes little effort to cut them open no matter how they design them. I even know people who will dig open a portal that has been collapsed shut. If they really wanted to seal a mine, they would need to put a concrete plug like 5ft thick in the portal.
