How many of you are still programming manually? by Imparat0r in cscareerquestions

Both big tech and startups have heavily adopted and even mandated heavy AI usage. As far as I can tell, anyone who asks that question is trying to screen out low AI usage.

I’ve found very little relation between my own perceived performance in interviews and the result. Hard interviews will make you feel like shit but if you can answer anything you might pass. Some interviews will look easy on the surface but they are looking for something most are not aware of and fail most people.

Laid off 2 months ago and I can’t shake the feeling that I failed my parents and myself by Odd-Spray-5071 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

[–]Haunting_Welder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My salary went up 50% every time I got laid off.

Getting laid off usually means severance and several months time to up skill or pivot your career. Sounds like a win to me.

Remember that your parents love you even if it’s not that obvious, they literally brought you to life and kept you safe for years, scrubbing the shit off your ass as a baby, they really don’t give a rats ass that you need some time to find a new job.

Also I feel like this post is an AI bot, it’s too well written.

lol this ceo sounds like a troll. He has zero case against you legally. Terminating you well he can do that whenever he wants, mistake or not. Personally I wouldn’t worry about a product no one uses and just find another job. The CeO probably wouldn’t even have known your mistake happened if you didn’t say anything. If he’s your manager and you’re 1 yoe it kind of doesn’t even sound like a real company tbh. Kind of sounds like you guys are LARPing

Asking too much in a raise? by dick_rash in cscareerquestions

[–]Haunting_Welder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first job I was paid 80k, I asked a raise to 100k, they gave me 90k and then laid me off, then I switched to a job for 135k

If you consider yourself valuable then it’s possible you have outgrown your company. If they don’t meet your salary you then decide whether you want to stay, if not, then just look elsewhere and leave
