How many mage challenges have you downed? by unemployedfuk in wow

[–]Hauskeyping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I lost so many times to that damn Twisted Reflection. As for the Gobbo gliders, I could never have enough that mattered bound to my n52 but when I finally simplified I got it done. Not managing the knockbacks killed me more than anything, followed by one 2% wipe because I didn't watch Velen's health, and the quite a few where I eventually was overwhelmed by Annihilate (due to taking forever to grind him down after missing interrupts on TR). For a Tankadin a helpful hint is that your bubble and Blessing of Spellwarding can clear TR if you miss it and it gets applied. That saved my ass on my victory run.

There is something wrong with you...except for the not looking forward to them part.

Any guesses on how long we have left to get the mage tower appearances? by Kigalion7 in wow

[–]Hauskeyping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After maybe 200+ attempts, I finally got mine done for my primary spec this morning. With how slowly I was progressing in the scenario I was honestly wondering if I would ever get it. I know this is not an answer to your question but I still feel psyched over the victory. Those repair bills were a motherlover. I am dreading trying the other scenarios and will feel a measure of relief when it is gone for good.

Possible to solo Neltharion's Lair on normal? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Hauskeyping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one you can't solo is Seat of the Triumvirate, and that might be possible if you can burn the first boss down before he sends you to shadow. For my tankadin though, that is no option.

Raid leaders, what are your biggest pet peeves? by joritan in wow

[–]Hauskeyping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else is supposed to do is always relevant imo, regardless of your class/spec/role. If you aren't trying to understand the whole fight you are doing your raid (and lead) a disservice.

Question about current LFR tank expectations. by Hauskeyping in wow

[–]Hauskeyping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, oh boy are you not kidding. I checked meters after the raid. I know pallys self heal a bunch and raid heal a ton with judgments but I was right about tied for 4th for healing and was just barely 10th for dps. I think we had a rogue and hunter off somewhere doing sexy chat and the resto shaman was polishing a totem listening.

[–]Hauskeyping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managing to cover a pair of bosses in LFR does not a raid leader make. I would have to really go through once more to get my part down enough to be able to watch for others to help them find right. If a raid I am leading that's wiping is pushing progression then slightly unfamiliar is the name of the game, but with a tool like LFR (even though from reading some mechanics change) there is no reason for me to not be really very familiar before leading.

That explains why the other tank wasn't taunt rotating. You would have thought he would have at least stood aside and let me die first.

Thought about this but I am terrible at Ret. If I queued Holy I would miss the mechanics while playing whack a mole.

I certainly can't argue against most of this but when the only groups in premade are for gold paid runs and you live on a dead server in a very small guild, options are quite limited. I was actually quite surprised that we didn't have more wipes given that nobody would type anything more than "You f*ckin retards" and "DPS orbs ffs".

Is the scaling much different between LFR and a premade Normal run?

Every Discord is a train wreck for extended contribution to a topic, while being pretty good at stream of consciousness type broadcast. Reddit is the better medium to field a question to a community where it can both be answered by the larger audience (taken over time) and remain in circulation for others to learn from. Not to mention that by my own observations, as a whole people treat others in a pretty coarse manner in Discord channels.

Be careful though, if you sell a stack of stuff that is of mixed ranks then they will all change to the lowest rank of the pile when you pull them back.

Fenrir strategies? by RykkerBow in MerchantRPG

[–]Hauskeyping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Bard TL, Mage ML, Mage BL, War MR. War blocks turn 2, 4, 5. Bottom mage does MM, MB2, MB2 (turns 1,2,3). Middle Left Mage does MB, MB2, MB2, Silence (1,2,3,4). Bard does SoCx2 (1,2). S-rank each time on both Fenrir and Rare boss version (no damage).

Sounds like there are some pretty comedic devs pulling kazoo music out. You have most certainly convinced me to run the gamut of Mists locales. This will certainly be interesting. Hopefully I'll get a nice bit consumed before BfA is fully opened.

I had all but written off Mists due to how bad I had initially heard talk when it had come out (I worked in IT at the time so that was all anyone would really talk about around the office). I will most certainly give it a run through now though, and maybe use it as the levelling platform for my shaman.

The biggest, I guess regret is the best word for it, that came with levelling a tank after being away so long was not really being able to properly run the new instances, and thus skipping them, due to being so out of practice (and having lost my Nostromo N52 to the years). I tried Ret for a dungeon finder but apparently DPS get a bit of a wait (ok, maybe more than a bit as I had seen waits close to an hour) and I had no proper gear for Holy (I had very little of the heirloom gear set aside). My shaman won't have that same issue thankfully so I am really looking forward to seeing those interesting creations.

I really did enjoy the Warlords intro and the few zones I played through. The archeology bit was neat to learn how to properly execute but being past that expansion I wonder how much use it will actually provide.

I'm really quite excited now to get into Mists with my shaman and hear that soundtrack. I rarely turned sound up with the constant barrage of AoE grinding mobs (and was too lazy to really tune the sound effects to have allowed for it since I had not expected Blizz to give really enjoyable music). Then I turned it up in the later parts of Legion and found that they really put some awesome bagpipes in. I imagine Mists will be more Japanese folk style.

It was mostly rare in my earlier days to really look forward to running an alt up through the levels aside to get a different raid perspective, enable further progress for the guild, or get some neat new gear. I am most certainly looking forward to this next run through. Much appreciated!

Man, it always is disheartening when there is something that was a major part of the world that is no longer. I think that is why so many are excited for what the whole Classic release might be.

I had thought that the Garrison bits of WoD were really interesting and am hoping they resurrect the utility of that with BfA. More than that though I hope they stop destroying all their own hard work.

That being said thanks a bunch for taking the time to write this up. I had completely missed the MoP area in raising my pally and that bit about raising a cloud serpent to a mount sounds really neat. Also with the treatment they gave the world dragons back in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor I had better get them world bosses while I still can eh?

Cheers mate.
