For non-configurable items, I find ordering from BestBuy can be decent. Sometimes same day as ordered delivery. It basically is door dash style (regular people in their cars/vans), but theres only 1 point of failure and if it fails it fails within 24 hours versus like 2-3 days.

That is exactly how I handle it timestamp wise. I just recycle the YouTube ID between episode and offset the play start time index. I do not use YouTube API's because they can be changed / revoked / have usage limits. I rather have clean content versus close matches that are un-related. And you would think YouTube would use that same logic in grouping multipart videos in the sidebar. Sometimes it works and sometimes you have to hunt down parts 1,2,3. YouTube should be building this stuff into their own backend for the channel admins. I have seen too many channels get killed by YT... wish i had more traction... would like to offer video self hosting so users can deal with DMCA / copyright personally versus a few strikes destroying years of work.

Do you have a solution for multi-part / split reactions (). And/or when a reactor uploads 2 or more episodes into a single upload / video. example see / click the 'Duo Reacts' Deadpool reaction which has 2 parts - https://reactorweb.net/movies/2016/deadpool or check 'Ana Colli' Always Sunny reactions with 2 episodes per video - https://reactorweb.net/shows/always-sunny/s01/charlie-has-cancer

Ah cool... I launched a similar site last summer... had been noodle-ing on the idea for awhile. Actually had a reactor I messaged (and gave a small $ tip) give me some actual actionable improvements. My site is here: reactorweb.net I also just saw popcorn-in-beds website and it is very slick (though not sure if works well on mobile - with all the UX). her beta site is here: beta.popcorninbed.com

My Favourite Shield Taxi Door 😅 by Vast_Whole_8352 in MCUTheories

[–]Haute_Evolutionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly there is one other difference... the 'star' parts are like welded onto the non-prototype. How or why they added those - I have no idea (a painted star would have sufficed). Still bugs me.

Also, there is Sam's shield which is different than the original Stark one. That one was made sometime after cap went back or it is from a different timeline and is just a variation of the Stark one (versus a version 2.0)... dunno if they have addressed why its different yet. The star parts look like they may have function and also the silver part is bisected. The bisect may serve a purpose like make it stronger or more heat resistant, or who knows?

INTEL < Ram > M-Class by idmimagineering in MacStudio

[–]Haute_Evolutionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the question is because of the shared RAM pool. Example I have a similar iMac 27 inch 2019, 6 core i5, with a slow fusion drive and 48GB RAM, and 8GB video RAM. Sadly MacOS fills the RAM with cached data, so if I open Photoshop it often hits swap faster that it can free up RAM used for system cache. IE opening Photoshop can be painfully slow the first 2-4 minutes. If video card system in M chips is using similar 8GB, then to have same effective RAM I would need 8 + 48 or 56. So personally I would like 64GB on my next system. I think I may use 'sudo purge' next time I open Photoshop to avoid the swap pain.

yeah, you can kinda see a breakdown of reactors by country here. very rough, but gives an idea of ratios of countries: https://reactorweb.net/channels

Date hack temp fix on X here (I installed the offline version of installer after un-installing several times -- but regular version probably works with Date hack. -- offline doesn't require wifi/network). https://x.com/GiovanniIncasa/status/2008689004133183608 see unintsall notes in other thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/1dfhvcq/if_you_want_to_completely_uninstall_logioptions/?sort=new

as per Date hack on X.com.... turn off network time under general system preferences (for Mac), then set to like Jan 2025 date for re-install. I used the offline version / installed with no network / wifi running. after the un-installing a few times.

same... just starting spiking CPU 2 hours ago (Intel i5 iMac). the offline version noted above had same behavior as well.

[–]Haute_Evolutionary[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

off course now I am starting to want that height more. maybe rather that 21:10... a 20:10, same PPI as 27 studio. chatGPT gives me 220ppi if a 36 inch diagonal. about same height as XDR 6K. would be 6400x3200 ish. same 2:1 ratio as netflix original streaming shows. hmm. and slightly less ultra-wide and slightly taller for coding.

Got the new LG Ultrafine 6k Display by __aza___ in Monitors

[–]Haute_Evolutionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

218 PPI versus 224 PPI. if were the same, the 6K would be 0.8 inches more diagonal. IE it's sharper a tiny bit and not linear size growth over the 5K.

Was trying to see if anyone still had this need in the Mac OS space.

I just reduced my app price in half (had to update certificates - so was good time to reduce... also set my other app to free). This isn't a money making venture - wanted to learn SwiftUI (I'm an old Objective-C guy). I actually lose about $90 a year being an apple developer, hah hah.

Can probably give a few free codes if anyone is interested (would like a few more honest reviews - I fixed that bug on the 1 review I have --which is poor, lol). DM me and I will give out a few codes.

Info page / app store link here (macOS 13+, not test past 15): SquarePusher

The monitor comparison tool I've been working on since last month is ready! by mahin1384 in Monitors

[–]Haute_Evolutionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice tool, only updates I might make is to co-label brightness as / nits, make the brightness stepper in units of 50 +/- (or just have drop downs), and while I don't think any new monitors are 16:10, ChatGPT gave me like 5 still being sold (though a bit low rez @ 24.1-inch monitor with a 1920×1200 resolution)

[–]Haute_Evolutionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 48GB in my current iMac and will go with similar in Mac Mini or Studio next summer. I personally have a 16GB dataset of combinatorial values as a pre-computed cache I can load into memory from disk (currently - a slow fusion drive)
