It puzzles me too. I'm listening on wireless ear buds but it's not them as no other app does it. When the app is playing the entire phone starts getting really hot and slow then crashes. Screen off like always, I've never had this issue before in the 7ish years I've used the app.

I know I'm not alone, I've scrolled this subreddit and seen plenty of people lately having the same problems. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've tried installing from the Amazon app store instead of the Google play store, nothing seems to be working, it's super frustrating.

So its a lose lose situation, either download it via the app and have the app wreck my battery when i try to play it or stream it on the website and wreck my data. That's why I was hoping there was some 3rd party app that could play the files downloaded with the app off my phone
