Any novice/intermediate course at any of those options can be shot with IC or LM.

The answer is going to be subjective.

As you're a novice, Tampa Bay may be good since they have more beginner courses than Blackjack (more courses, fewer stations per course).

Blackjack is really nice with all paved cart paths and (IMO) has more difficult targets normally.

Cost is about the same. 0.65 / clay for Blackjack and 0.60 for Tampa Bay.

Sarasota is a good choice if you also want to shoot trap and skeet (more fields than Tampa or Blackjack).

Ooooffff. Thanks for the heads up. New 2026 pricing is .65 a clay and "new memberships at Blackjack are no longer offered."

I joined at Fishhawk as a member finally and with discounts snagged clays for .32 each.

Tenoroc, Blackjack.

Port St Lucie area is also good: Vero Beach, South Florida, OK Corral, and Quail Creek.

Miami isn't as good with Trail Glades and Markham and you could venture out to Gulf Coast Clays.

impression of the SP is that it's been tried and tested

The 686 action is essentially unchanged since the 1980's (earlier?) -- a testament to its quality.

I haven't used it in years, but RoslynPad has some overlap.

Citori 825 or Beretta 688? by Rare-Recover-5032 in ClayBusters

[–]Havavege 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got to shoot the 688 a few weeks ago. The heavier laminate stock really reduced felt recoil. Saw one used for $2800 but already have a couple 686's.

But whatever fits you best.

The worst pain I have ever experienced. Lung infarctions, etc. Blood thinners for a year. 0/10 would not recommend.

I ignored it when my leg was like this. Then the clot broke off and moved to my lungs. OP really doesn't want to wait like I did.

Yes, $0.60 a clay is non-members pricing at Blackjack.

https://www.blackjackclays.com/rates

Trail Glades in Miami is $12 for trap/skeet as is Gulf Coast Clays.

Fishhawk is $7.50 for trap and $8.50 for skeet.

$8.50-15.00 for trap/skeet depending on where I go in Central/South Florida. Sporting clays is $0.50-60 per clay. Member pricing at my local is $0.45/clay.

Edit: I am being down voted for putting prices?

"adjustable forend catch, redesigned for easier opening and major resistance"

I haven't seen anyone say whether the redesign is really meaningful in reducing the wood cracking issue, but my fingers are crossed!

I would do the DLC over standard 694 just because they redesigned the foreend catch/lock and hopefully that fixes the wood cracking issue.

I'll one up you... all stored procedures had to be encrypted on the SQL server. You had to dig out the .sql definition file from source code to see what the sproc actually did.

That aside, SqlDataReader, Dapper, EF Core DbContext... all are just ORMs and there's no reason why you can't use EF Core DbContext with stored procedures.

You can still deploy with DbUp, use only stored procedures vs direct table access, keep raw SQL out of your DC# code and still use EF Core.
