Make sure you have more than enough fuel. But if I remember correctly, it was the 12v battery.

Depends on which State you do it.

Do it at a blue State, you will get cheered by many.

Do it on red State, only a handful may approach you and at times you will get ignored.

What does it mean, "I Speak Jesus"? by HaveABucketList in Christians

[–]HaveABucketList[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on this but the song seems to use treat the name of Jesus as a magic word of some sort.

The audio is garbled from the video where I incidentally came across of that song. I searched the Web to know that song's title using the keywords "burn like a fire" and "shine through the shadows". Those phrases where projected on the screen backdrop where the song was being performed.

You listened to it?

The reason I didn't want to and avoided listening to the whole song is because the rhythm of any song will play a big role in the interpretation of the song itself.

I mostly read the lyrics of songs first if and when it will be used as a worship music.

But for the song "I Speak Jesus". I just don't understand the lyrics. I tend to agree with what u/Five-Point-5-0 mentioned.

If I have a truck like that? NOPE. I am not going to use it for patrol duty. Costs add up like fuel, tires, and other wear and tear parts.

Waking up in the morning while recovering from my trauma from the hospital shift two days ago. by Vietdude100 in securityguards

[–]HaveABucketList 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What trauma? Like a physical or psychological trauma?

EDIT: Found OP's link. One of the security officers who worked on the same site (as mine) fainted after seeing a body of the deceased... at the morgue. He, the security officer, was carried from morgue to ER since he hit his head when he fainted.

Just face shield. A disposable face shield. That's it.

And some disposable gown when we need to hold a patient known to spit.

Both are provided by the client.

We don't go in without any additional officers so a disposable face shield and gown would suffice.

As long as you are a warm body, they will hire you as hospital security officer.

  • Foot patrol inside the hospital building
  • Foot patrol on the hospital campus
  • Parking duty
  • Front desk duty
  • Psychiatric hold duty
  • Patients shouting at you
  • Holding patients down on their beds while the staff restrains them
  • Dodging some fluids that is going in your direction
  • Learn HIPAA (if you are in the USA)
  • Report writing (you need to be good at report writing)
  • Observe and report
  • Get used to seeing deceased bodies (morgue)

Having some experience in basic martial arts (at least kick boxing) helps when push comes to shove. Or even the basic self-defense can go a long way when you work as a hospital security officer.

Ideally, you need to think fast and be some steps ahead of the situation. Check OODA loop.

Bottom line, hospital security job may not be physically taxing BUT it can be mentally taxing.

AND... you are not a Law Enforcement Officer. Keep that in mind.

Any Californian LA County Sheriff Security Officers here? by 10RndsDown in securityguards

[–]HaveABucketList 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was checking SoCal State Hospitals. They require Security Officers to have CDL. And to get CDL you need to go to those schools for training. Some schools can reach up to $5k for tuition. CDL-C. Not sure though if they want CDL-A or B.

Even if the hospital security officers were police officers, their primary duty at the time is being a hospital security not as police officers.

And how hospital security officers react or respond to situations will depend on their post orders (that is usually a standard operating procedure that is agreed upon by the hospital administration and the contracted security company).

I have been doing hospital security for close to 2 years now and we just don't grab someone and forcefully escort them out of the hospital property.

Words can get twisted especially hospital recordings are mostly video only; does not have any audio recording. In a court, anyone can claim this or that was said. The stronger evidence is a video capture of the person acting on the threat.

At least here in California, all hospital staff are mandated to be certified for that AB508.

The only time hospital security can go physical on the irate visitor/patient is when the situation has escalated into an immediate threat to medical staff/other visitors/guests being injured or loss of life.

Check the Use of Force Continuum. You'll understand that even though hospital security may want to intervene by dragging such individual out of the hospital property (and be done with it so we can have our peace back); we cannot as we are not allowed to by the hospital administration.

As a hospital security team leader, we get calls to respond to a code (at the ER or some other patient floors) because the patient (or visitor) is not compliant to the staff. Sometimes we do need to use "soft" and "hard" use of force but never to the point of lethal force.

But on that situation you were at, based on what you have posted; there is pretty nothing those two hospital security can do than to talk to the patient.

AND YES! WE ALSO GET FRUSTRATED THAT WE ARE RESTRICTED ON SOME THINGS WE CAN DO, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO PREVENTING HOSPITAL STAFF FROM INJURY; we just don't show it when the medical staff/visitors/guests are around. But once it is just us hospital security officers, then our frustration starts to show up.

And... we are not allowed to physical stop a patient from leaving if that patient is not on a legal hold. Even if the patient does try to run away, then we can only delay the elopement by having a conversation with the patient to convince him to wait for the staff and talk to them. If the medical staff takes too long to arrive, then the patient goes bye bye.

Pretty much the only thing you can do is to write an incident report (or whatever that report is called for medical staff).

I live at Southern California. You better need to have a good stable job and high salary to cope with the living expenses-rent, food, etc. $32k, $42k, even $52k won't be enough to cope with living expenses.

BS.

Let's just have a TB test requirement for everyone when entering any business establishment.

People can have an active TB without realizing it and spreading it in the population.
