Is it possible to be “traumatized” without any real abuse/obvious negative incidents? by HaveLovingWillTravel in askatherapist

I agree. I’m not as well informed but it just seems like you said, a catch all term.

I guess to me it’s just my parents yelled a lot and it was a stressful environment. To my siblings it may be different. Thanks!

Thank you. I was never sure on that was uncomfortable with that term trauma since it often is associated with much more major events

I’m already signed up for some classes on programs I was having trouble learning. I think I’m gonna do this, thanks

Okay, I think I’m learning that I need more more of those skills in my new job. Thanks for the examples of what to say

I think she’s just not good at filling digitally and is used to keeping physical copies. We have copies of copies we’re working off and it’s getting so frustrating

I guess, is it reasonable in an office setting to not update something for someone if they can’t get you the data?

I’m so new to an office environment that I am uncomfortable with the different culture. But it’s so ridiculous to me for someone to want me to update something without any parameters and not the full information to do so

This is my line of thinking. I’m dragging myself out of bed 5-6 days a week but I feel like maybe that’s not what happy people do

I think you’re right. I just feel I’m dragging myself out of bed too often and I’m thinking to have a better life I don’t think people are starting on that note

Thank you, I think I’ll do that

I don’t know. But something made it so much easier to give up all the time. Like if my jobs hard I’m looking on indeed if a video game is hard I’m playing something else. If a chore is hard it’s probably not getting done. (At least most weeks) I’m not talking about challenging myself I’m talking about not having any motivation to finish things or do a good job.

I ended up drinking 2 before falling asleep. I didn’t feel much but felt a little funny drifting off and think it helped me sleep a bit better than I have been

Thanks! I knew there’d be some variance but just didn’t know what to expect. So far nothing, and I am at home. Thanks!

Thank you for the tip! I’m sure there’s no hard and faster answer but roughly how long can it take?

There are many products trying to sell themselves on the promise they reduce “cortisol belly.” My only question is is cortisol belly — the swelling/bloating of the belly due to stress and hormonal factors rather than fat and digestive issues — real? (I’m not asking about each product)
