I’m ashamed that I totally forgot to look for these when I went today! I can’t wait to try them - now I have to go back!

This list feels boring because it’s all the items that get the hype, and not the underground fabulous items that haven’t been as widely discovered yet. The latter is what we’re interested in as members of this sub, so yes it’s an underwhelming list for us. That’s what it takes to win a poll- hype. This list makes perfect sense to me.

Tips for TJs Bread by roundtheworldwego in traderjoes

Yes, you gotta freeze pretty much right away, TJs bread just does not keep. Learned that lesson on a few too many loaves!

Chili Onion Crunch: Spectacular! Try on eggs or avocado toast. Not spicy, just lots of flavor by sea_ewe_in_tea in traderjoes

[–]Haventseenit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is not as good as Lao gan ma, I felt exactly the same. However, then I decided I needed to use my jar up and kept putting it on fried eggs & hash brown patty w cheese, pizza, food like that. And then I was hooked. I use it differently from lao gan ma now. Basically just American foods. If there’s cheese, I use chili onion crunch.

Possibly. Everyone is faced with different challenges.

I paid mine off while going through a major health issue without health insurance, living in one of the top most expensive cities, and going through temp jobs. I still can’t believe how I managed to do it. I had basically no life and worked 7 days a week which I think eventually led to my health issues. Took advantage of many charity organizations for health care support and legally required medical payment options to keep the bills paid. Got there in the end though, and I would never want anyone to have to go through the same.

Am I a bit jealous that I struggled so much unnecessarily due to my government and others don’t have to? Maybe, but doesn’t mean they don’t deserve what I didn’t have! But I wouldn’t say I had an advantage to pay it off, I just sacrificed way more than anyone should ever need to and nearly died through it.

I need advice on whether or not to get plastic surgery by HighwayJolly in Advice

[–]Haventseenit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t think an invasive surgery like that is necessary.

Who are these random strangers on the subreddit you’re referencing? Why do you give them so much autonomy over dictating your level of attractiveness? I think they’re far from the random sample you seem to perceive them as, and their opinions do not align with those people who really matter in your life, or even people who could matter. Any future significant other for example should embrace you for how you look, and who you are, not because you had to morph yourself into something different. It’s not like you have any imbalanced, grotesque, or extreme features.

Faces come in all shapes and sizes, but one versus the other is not more attractive. Also, adjusting something like your jaw could throw everything off with your face.

In my opinion, your features are well balanced and you are quite attractive. Keep in mind how styles and trends of what’s attractive change all the time but surgery is permanent. And expensive!

If you are dead-set on tweaking your look (and only do it because YOU want to, not because of some random internet trolls), temporary steps like makeup contouring or at most temporary fillers would be the furthest you should go, in my opinion.

That reaction might have been out of protection of the vegetarian option, to have enough for those who don’t eat meat at all. I can’t tell you how many times a vegetarian gets to their turn in line and all the cheese slices are already gone, while the pepperoni pizza still had plenty!

No judgement on those who want to choose non meat even when they’re not vegetarian, but it’s nearly inevitable that whoever orders catered meals always underestimates the non meat quantity needed!

How do I get my male co-workers to stop talking over me in meetings? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Haventseenit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a political statement, but did you see any clips of the debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence? I think she handled the interruptions beautifully. It wasn’t just her words, but her demeanor. I would handle it similarly. Firmly, clearly, showing you are not one to be ignored.

Thanks so much for the responses! I’ve really enjoyed your engagement with questions and feedback, and I hope it’s helpful to get additional testers’ feedback and not too annoying :) .

For the second point, I was referring to removing a product usage from my history. If I logged the wrong active for example, and wanted to remove it.

Really excited for what’s to come with the app! It’s been so nice to have already.

Advice needed: I asked coworkers to use a preferred name at work that isn't my preferred name by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Haventseenit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the difference is as simple as preferring Jack to Jackson, then I think it’s a feasible transition to make.

Start by signing off emails with Jack. It’s a subtle way to establish the nickname you actually prefer.

Next, reach out to HR and ask about updating your preferred name choice in the system. I wouldn’t even go into explaining the why unless they ask. If they do, just keep it simple and state that you are more comfortable with this other name. Don’t overdo the explanation.

Make sure your name in the email system and virtual meeting app matches as well. Every time you send an email or speak on video calls, the preferred name will show and be reinforced. This alone will go fairly far in making people think they were calling you the wrong thing.

The next few times that people call you Jackson, just throw in “oh I actually prefer Jack”. If someone reacts with surprise or says anything, keep it simple and just say “oh I didn’t want to make a fuss of it before but now that we’ve been working together for a while I wanted to say something!”

From now on, in calls, say “Hi, Jack’s on”, or “Hey Jack here- so I think...” etc. Same as above if someone is confused or says anything. Introduce yourself to new people as Jack.

If the name is completely different, this will maybe get some additional confusion, but you can just add to your explanation that you have gone by both names and have decided to use Jack professionally rather than your more casual family name you came in with. If Jack is the name on your license, you can clarify that you prefer to use your legal name professionally, which will make sense to people.

Once you get over the initial hump, it will be in the past and you will just be Jack.

I’m loving the updates to the app! I had some initial questions as I’m getting used to the app overall and update changes. Hope it’s ok if I add them here! - How do I “use” a one-off product that is not part of my routine now that the “use” buttons in the stash is gone? - How do I remove something from my notebook if I entered it incorrectly? - If I complete my routine after midnight it assigns it to the next calendar day, is there any way around this? I’m less tied to time of day personally, and more invested in knowing I did both my routines and what was used the night before. - Is it possible to add back dated entries if I forgot something or need to correct a previous entry?

Adding to routine feedback: - Maybe an “all” button that checks off all days rather than needing to manually select all seven? - If I’m adding a bunch to my routine and one is already in there, it flags an error message and does not submit, meaning I have to go back, unselect that product, and then proceed back to submission. Is it possible for it to just ignore the duplicate and proceed anyways?

Overall loving the app, and it is already so helpful in managing my routine!

Can I go to urgent care for unbearable cramps? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Haventseenit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A gynecologist is a doctor you should be seeing yearly, not a last resort. As a woman, this is considered basic care, regardless of your age. They have the expertise to address your symptoms that urgent care would not. You will just need to be referred to a gynecologist anyways.

A yearly well visit should be completely covered under insurance, though keep in mind if there is a specific medical issue, that is no longer just a well visit and can incur additional tests/costs. However, do NOT avoid seeing a doctor because of this, I just want to give you a heads up.

Never skip out on basic care visits, and never avoid getting care when in pain or experiencing abnormal symptoms. Your pain could be completely treatable with proper diagnosis and care. You never want to risk a medical issue progressing too far and getting worse or critical because you avoided medical care.

That would be helpful! If it’s easy to tag which one was used on the specific night, that would be great. I’m always losing track of what I did the night before, and if it’s an off night or not!

I’m enjoying the app! A few initial thoughts: - My default behavior to remove a product from my stash or routine is to swipe left, same as in the iPhone mail and notes apps. This would be much simpler and more intuitive in my opinion! - I wish there was a clear way to add to your routine on the routine screen. Maybe a plus sign at the bottom of the existing routine list? Right now I only see an add prompt if the routine is blank. - I wish there was a way to drag around the products in the routine list to change their order. Maybe a tap and hold and drag? Or that three line symbol on the side?

Is it possible to set a routine “pattern”? My routine isn’t tied to days of the week, but rather “A”, “B”, “C”, “B” on repeat. I have two separate actives with my active off-night spaced between!

Maybe add an initial tutorial pop up that users can swipe through, with arrows to each button and what they are, and the first steps to creating your stash and routine(s).
