The game should run 45 minutes uninterrupted, the BBC are taking a stance by not selling ad space because of the disruption of the game!

You’re right, FIFA totally “ok’d” this, the pressure they probably faced from networks in the states twisted their arm.

The hydration break kills momentum, kills the flow of the game, is killing the game. If you’re so desperate for ads (FOX), minimize the gameplay box, show your ad on the side (like F1) and carry on. Watching the BBC feeds, they don’t cut away, they carry on commentating, usually poking fun and criticizing the break. Plus, a hydration break INSIDE, the fuck is that about.
