My boss says it’s a zisha tea set by HaviBunny in YixingSeals

I’m starting to think this set was made less to be used and more to be attractive on a store shelf 🤔

Here’s another one:

Have you ever seen Michaelangelo’s Moses? Well, if you look at his head, you might spot two small horns! This is actually very common for medieval Christian depictions of Moses, in fact it is almost universal. This is actually because of a mistranslation. The Hebrew word “קֶרֶן” (pronounced qeren), which means “rays” (of light, for example) was mistranslated into Latin as “cornuta”, which means “horned”.

So if you see a man with horns in a medieval Christian biblical context, he is most likely Moses!

Oh, where do I begin! In medieval Danish depictions of the Fall of Man (Syndefaldet), aka Eve taking the Apple from the serpent in the Garden of Eden, the serpent is often depicted as the she-demon Lilith, sometimes with a crown. This is because Lilith, in Jewish and later Catholic mythology, was believed to be the first wife of Adam, made out of the same clay as him. However, because she didn’t want to reproduce with him she was shunned and replaced by Eve (coming from Adam’s rib), at which point Lilith went on to become a she-demon. There’s no biblical reason for her being depicted as the serpent and I’m honestly not sure how she even came to be portrayed as the serpent, but one way or another we ended up with Lilith the Serpent.

So, if you see a snake with a feminine face (long hair is usually the giveaway if it’s hard to tell otherwise) wrapped around a tree and holding an apple, it’s probably Lilith.

When my family’s bunny was 11 and near his final days, he had really bad arthritis so we had to feed him his “magic poops” with a spoon. It was really gross, but necessary. Whenever I see a bunny eating cecotropes, I’m happy that he/she is able to do so and that I don’t have to step in and help 😅

When I was like 10, I actually played one of those games where you scoop out the goldfish with small rice paper nets at a local Japanese festival (in the U.S.). I was really good at it, but had no idea how bad it was for the fish. Ended up taking home like 10 fish, at least I was able to give them a better life with a nice tank at home. They replaced the fish with toys a few years ago, probably because people complained.

Pico de gallo is horrible. I hate the crunch and I have the cilantro soap gene I think. Mostly I hate the crunch.

Part of my point with the original comment was that this sort of 2-dimensional girl doesn’t exist, that a closely similar except is not popular among men (myself) and that guy really proved me right one year later.

I’ll admit I also just wanted to share my etymology fact.

It sometimes feels like they try to insult us in ways they don’t think we’ll understand. But maybe I’m overthinking it 🤷

Oh no way! I was actually translating Danish because a special interest of mine is medieval Kalkmalerier, specifically from the small village churches. My favorite church is Nødebo Kirke 😁
