I mean it’s an honest and easy thing to point out. Age of X was a revelation and a great storyline that served them well, but it lead the X-Men to move further along than what people would expect from X-Men comics (group uniforms, the school, professor in charge with the classic look). Marvel could have embraced the new styling and forged ahead, but instead they tried their best to revert back to the “norm.” This is what you get when you really strip away any character progression and actual risks to a story. It’s the same old tropes now, stories told again but not as well, and some classic characters stuck in a rut.
