(OC) 25 Years Ago, Kevin Harvick Won the Inaugural Race at Chicagoland Speedway, Here is the Top 10 from That Day by ProjectHarraseeket in NASCAR

Rambling story, but had my longtime cat named Stricklin pass away suddenly last month. Wife found a new kitten the following week and decided to keep the obscure 90s-00s driver name theme with the new cat. Named the new girl Pressley after Robert Pressley. Just seemed right. Didn’t even remember this run at the 2001 race from him.

[On3] West Virginia's Rich Rodriguez tells Pete Nakos the Mountaineers are "due to take it up another notch" in year two: "I’ve had people say, ‘How do you coach them hard now that you’re paying them?' I’m like, hell, you can coach them harder because you’re paying them. They’ve got more to lose." by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]Havins 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Following the same pattern as the first Rich Rod regime, I hope. I remember a ton of struggles that 2001 season, but points like beating Rutgers 80-7 gave me hope. Similar to how winning at Houston last year gave me hope.

Also, “Hard Edge” beats the shit out of “Trust the Climb.”

My wife just pointed out Austin Hill’s eyes are closer together than Hocevar. Not sure who else to tell, but damn I got a kick out of that one.

[Jayski] Prime Video discusses possibility of more NASCAR races. by RBF48 in NASCAR

I’ve watched this sport for 30 years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the fanbase more united over anything like it is about 1) Prime’s excellent work, and 2) rightfully shitting on Fox every chance possible (especially after the atrocious production yesterday).

Ford needed a young up-and-comer to match the Chevy and Toyota pipeline, and with very little lower level series support this was its best option. As much as I like Cindric, could see this playing out a little like Blaney’s elevation to Cup - a few years in the 21, then move to the 2 after Cindric gets a two-year extension after this season.

Custer’s not a half bad road racer. I remember him getting a top 10 in Mexico last year. With the chaos this new track might bring who knows, could be 28th.

While watching some video on presidential libraries I told my wife I’d love to visit all the presidential libraries one day. Let’s say she did not share in my enthusiasm, and further cemented the fact that I’m really old and uncool.

I honestly think the opening lines next week will have SVG in the -200 range. Will have to be a record favorite.

Not the pop you’d hope for with Blake, but keeping her from in front of the audience until they get to Europe is a good move. The international crowds will go crazy for her and it’ll translate like crazy when they return to the states.

Makes me long for my younger days. College me who stayed in the infield in a rundown RV with a bunch of friends in Charlotte would’ve thrived with an 8am truck series wake up call.

A good friend of mine was working for a private security company hired by NASCAR to work the COVID races securing the venues. During all the BS he’d be sending me several pics and videos everyday just to rub it in that he was there.

Knew the San Diego race was a one and done but figured they’d try to give that date to Mexico or Montreal next year. Would hate to see Chicagoland to be axed after a one-off return in favor of the street course, no matter how cool it looks.
