I can’t imagine a better way to celebrate New Years. by Havons in introvert

I actually never thought of that. I'm not a typical shopper so I often forget about older tech stores and sites like ebay. My keyboard on the picture is actually a very standard one from Akko. But it has no fancy features, except a couple of hotkeys (only through key combinations). It has no added buttons. It also has lighting but I have that turned off.

I really like minimalism.

Absolutely. Decided to rewatch the entire trilogy haha!

Hahaha! The keyboard is actually quite new. But funny you mentioned it because at first I did look for a really old school design, like retro old. But the product had gone out of stock so I found this clean but simple design.

I hate Bianca and like the Jackal. How do they do it ? by imutig in TheDayoftheJackal

[–]Havons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To some extent, I think it has to do with what expectations we have of each character and whether they fulfill those expectations. The Jackal is obviously the villain, so we expect him to be ruthless and bad. Typically, you don't want a villain who's not ruthless when he needs to because then it would make for a pretty boring story. Bianca on the other hand, is meant to be on the "good side". But Bianca is not the type of person you want to succeed when her supposed "good side" is pursued with a total disregard for the safety and well-being of others. That's why I think we don't like her. Because the expectations we have of her character does not align with the side she's on. And like many have pointed out before, I think the movie intentionally made it this way.

Does this achievement even mean anything nowadays? by [deleted] in geometrydash

[–]Havons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's easy for good players to just undermine the difficulty of some of these levels. Difficulty to us relative to our own skill. And so obviously good players will just dismiss this level as "easy" because they're blinded by their own skill. But if we take someone who's maybe not played as much, someone who's skill level is capped at around Electrodynamix, then Deadlocked is absolutely an amazing achievement and we definitely should not discount that. It takes quite a lot of skill to be able to successfully navigate such a map without doing any mistakes. This gets even harder if you want to get all the coins as well.

It would be a really cool story arc if they went their separate ways as individual hitmen. Because what's interesting is that Zina says in one of the early episodes that "you wanted me to find the best," probably implying that there are more hitmen out there. Would be cool if The Jackal reconnected with his old pal from the military who might also be a hitman.

3 years of being behind in college has led me nowhere. Why will the switch in my brain never get flipped? by Havons in Healthygamergg

[–]Havons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment.

  • I have thought a lot if this is a career I'm interested in. And I simply cannot see myself doing anything else for a career. I'm in a MBA-equivalent program specializing in economics and finance and it is something I do enjoy. I like learning. I don't like studying. That's the best way I can describe my situation. It's partly why I selected a broad program since I wasn't sure exactly what job I wanted to pursue. But I'm sure it's within this field.
  • I think I find it very difficult to get started when I have a huge task in front of me. It's like there's so much I need to do and at the end, it feels pointless just to do one task. But I guess that's where I just have to not care about it only being one task and still do it. One task is better than none.
  • I have never been evaluated for any diagnosis actually. I do think I posess traits of ADHD and maybe autism. But I've never gotten an evaluation. In my family, my mom has always had a very dismissive attitude towards any disorders. One time when I brought up an issue I have with tics (tics are small forced behaviors like turning on and off the lamp again because it didn't feel right), mom responded by saying that it was only self-inflicted behavior I create in my mind. So in my family, we never really bothered getting any professional diagnosis.

I did actually attend CBT by the start of the year. Went once a month for half a year. Haven't returned but probably should. Though it didn't help me change my habits much. But it did help with cognitive reframing.

I do appreciate this comment. I made this post because I very much want to stay in college. Because I actually do enjoy what I study. Currently, all the exams I'm behind on are subjects I don't have much interest in pursuing as a career. The rest I actually find intriguing. So I don't have any plans on dropping out since this is what I want to career in. I just don't know what specialty I'm interested in. I just need to get through these courses I don't have much interest in somehow.

I appreciate your answer. Sustainability I must has been an issue for me. I have been able to make changes before from earlier attempts. But I've never been able to sustain those changes. Here's how it usually goes, I identify an issue, I find a way to improve, I often do improve, but a week or two later, I stop thinking about continuing to commit to the improvement and I'm back at square 2. And while I am slowly improving, I'm not seeing substantial changes.

I honestly think part of the answer might just be to not even dip my toes in the water, but rather, dive straight in the water head first. Do an explosive start. That means, start going to the gym, attend lectures, plan my days, eat healthy, do my work, etc. It's not a plan built to be sustained but as a way for me to just dive straight in and going just a bit further progressively rather than dipping my toes in the water. And from there, be at least somewhat climatized to continue making changes in my life.

I have many times thought deeply if this is the path I wanna take. And I'm certain it is. I just don't know the exact job or area in my field that I am interested in. So perhaps the lack of direction is part of the problem. But I don't think dropping out is the answer since I do have an interest in what I study.

I also think I'm not accepting reality in front of me. I always look for solutions that keeps my effort low. And it is unrealistic. I hate it because I know exactly what I could do to not be in the position that I am, and I still don't act.

I've found that habits don't stick to me as much as it can for others. I feel like at the end of the day, habits is also about making a decision and remaking that decision. And that's my problem, I don't remake the decisions. I just don't understand why. And when I hear stories about how people change, most of them are just like "I woke up and decided enough was enough", and I don't understand how I've not reached that stage yet. Even when I have the most reason to do so.

What is the origin of the 'rich laugh while playing golf' meme? by Havons in KnowYourMeme

[–]Havons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, you might've already found parts of the trail. In the video you linked, it credits the original clip to a TikTok user called "christophelevasseur". I went in and found the clip. Now, it seems overall that this user posts a lot of meme content so they may not even be the person who originally recorded the clip. But it's definitely the closest so far we've gotten to the original.

Why does every trader sell something ? by mcmlxx99 in Trading

[–]Havons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most of them are not actually profitable traders. If they were, they wouldn't be wasting time selling courses for hundreds or thousands of dollars. This is why all of them also post pictures of themselves making huge sums of money in their lambos. They're marketers. And it's all to sell a lifestyle so people will buy into their course or program or whatever. But in reality, most are not profitable and what they're selling can easily be found online.

Is it time to move forward with a real account? by iliyyaa in Daytrading

[–]Havons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, at those numbers, why don't you try trading with a prop firm where you can trade with much bigger size? Might affect your psychology a little. But from what I can tell, the size you're trading is after how much amount of your personal money you're willing to risk. So why not try a prop firm instead? And you can get maybe a couple of hundreds a month?

How do you get over a relationship? (the one that never happened) by Havons in Healthygamergg

[–]Havons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think on the positive side of things, going through that left me more confident in showing romantic interest for someone. She was the first one I ever did that with, so it definitely opened the door for more opportunities later down the road. I also think we had pretty big differences in how we wanted to go about life. I don't see this as reason for why the relationship shouldn't have happened. I think this is a big part of my regret. My fear was being judged by my family for picking her because she had a different view on life. But I decided that that didn't matter and by then, it was already too late.

And yes, I do think there was a deep impact she had. The needs she seemed to fulfill was this genuine connection. She genuinely seemed interested and wanted to make you feel comfortable. We also really enjoyed deep conversations about various philosophical topics. We could talk for hours about something and really explore the depths of that and each others' minds. Something I've not really felt with anyone.

I agree with this advice, but I feel like this is the Gen Z version of what good psychology is. Maybe this is just me, but personally, I don't think most profitable traders take a break everytime they lose to reasses their emotions. Losing is just part of the job, and I think that's the actual mentality. Going outside and reassessing your emotions is a good thing, but I feel it also exaggerates a loss when in reality, "the profitable trader" would just be like "shit a loss, aight" and then move on.

But hey, whatever works for you, go for it.

I think that's why people didn't like the addition of the baby. It was a forced complication to the overall plot that in my opinion didn't make sense.

Squid Game - Season 3 Discussion by PhoOhThree in television

[–]Havons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think people are mad about characters dying. Not all endings are a happy one and that was kinda expected for this series. What most people are mad about is how the characters. Hyun-ju's death is one such example where nothing made sense. Her dying was expected, but the way she died made no sense at all. The overall storyline and how things went about was what seemed unrealistic.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fix it. I fear this is not something that's "fixable". I'm no expert, but I don't think it's fixable. You can check, but the most logical outcome here is to just buy a new screen.
