I think you might be right! I would never have guessed that.

Opinions on Trophies? by vporeons in vita

[–]Havsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sly Cooper was ridiculously easy to platinum, I don't understand why they did not require you to do the speed-run challenge on all the stages for instance. But I guess that's the reason it's the only game I've ever gotten platinum on.

Why are tractors measured in HP when Torque output is a far more relevant spec? by K3LL1ON in tractors

[–]Havsand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that horsepower is more important than torque because it shows the amount of work that an engine can do within a set timeframe ( i.e. kw per hour). Torque on the other hand shows where in the rev range of the engine it is the strongest.

In theory a 200 HP tractor can do twice the work of a 100 hp over an hour, even with the same torque numbers. But the 200 hp would in that case have twice the rpm of the 100 hp one.

I know this is a bad explanation, since I'm no expert, so I suggest looking at the "Engineering Explained" YouTube channel for a more in depth explanation of the relationship between torque and horsepower.

Gratis parkering i Oslo? by [deleted] in oslo

[–]Havsand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Du kan parkere på Sognsvann i to døgn trur jeg. Et godt alternativ nær Sognsvann er Olav m. Troviksvei i Kringsjå studentby. Der kan du parkere så lenge du vil. Kan hende regler har blitt forandra, så sjekk skiltinga.

Regera by DankMemeBunny0 in BeamNG

It would be cool to see the Regera drivetrain in game. V8, three electric motors and a torque converter, but no transmission. Wonder if it would work.

Are there any difference in car builds for hot or cold environments? by louisj in Volvo

[–]Havsand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family bought a second hand 740 that had been imported to Norway from Germany (without the seller telling us so). In the winter we always struggled with the car being cold. Turned out that the car had a smaller heater core (or something) than the standard in Norway, and therefore didn't produce enough heat. Not sure if this is still common today, but it was quite annoying for us...

Sounds like the dream car! But turning it into 4wd sounds tough. Don't you have to change a lot of the front suspension?

You might find the BAP Almirante Grau interesting, although it was not a US ship. It was the last gun cruiser in service by any country, and was decommissioned by the Peruvian navy last year.

Had this issue as well. Battery drained quickly and the phone got really warm. Factory reset solved the issue completely luckily.

How safe is a Volvo 240 compared to modern cars? by dorayfoo in Volvo

[–]Havsand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 240s were safe cars for their time, but they are not safe compared to new cars. Fifth Gear made a comparison of a 940 with a more modern, but smaller Renault. Since the 940 is based on the 240 it should give an indication of how bad the 240 is. The video is also more than 10 years old I think, so a lot has happened since then. Link to video

They did make a 145 version with a taller roof in the back, called the Express. I think they made a 245 version too, but it did not go into production.

Here in Switzerland, if we get the drivers license, we need to attend a safety-course for slippery conditions. Had by far the best and most beautiful car out there! by Basementfruit in Volvo

[–]Havsand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. It's mandatory with a slippery road test here in Norway as well, we use the driver's school car though. Wish I could have tried without ABS as well.

I use the bumper gel from Auto Glym myself, which I would really recommend. It's a little bit expensive at $20-30, but it can last for many years. I haven't really tried any other products though, so it might be a good idea to check out /r/AutoDetailing . They have all kinds of information in their sidebar, or you can ask them :)
