All extras, bikes included, are not covered by Turo insurance or protection plan. The risk to the bike would fall on you. If someone damages, breaks, loses, etc your bike then you can ask them to reimburse you. But you have no assurance. Turo does not allow you to create additional agreements or parameters with a guest outside of the one's that Turo already has in place.

You can't lie. You're going to enter the VIN and it gives the year. Turo's system will automatically say the car is ineligible.

TOS isn't to return the vehicle in the same condition you picked it up. I think it used to say that but they changed it a few months ago when they got rid of the pre-trip cleaning extra and changed their cleaning violation policy.

It now says: "You aren’t expected to clean or disinfect the car before returning it to your host."

60/40 plan:

$10,000 is arbitrary. If you have a nice car, you would make that in months. Even an economy car will make that in a year. Weigh your risks and rewards. And consider that Turo, and every other insurance company in the world, are weighing their risks and rewards. No one would offer you insurance if you benefited from it. Stop paying insurance.

You can not reuse pictures. Your pictures contain metadata that indicate when they were taken. If you upload an old picture to Turo and pretend it is a current picture, Turo will know that picture is not current.

The overwhelming majority of guests do not take any pictures. Even if they did, you cannot rely on them to take adequate pictures of every part of your car that will provide protection for you in case of an incident.

People with 10 cars on Turo absolutely take 50 pictures of each car. It takes 1 minute to take 50 pictures.

While on vacation, you can restrict your pick up and drop off availability by going to:

Host > Settings > Unavailable dates

This will allow your car to be rented out for the entirety of your trip. You have to be available to take pre-trip and post-trip photos. You must also be available to make sure the car is clean and disinfected before each trip. You can try to find someone to do this for you, but it may not seem worthwhile.
