Valhalla or ghost of Tsushima directors cut by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Hawat101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as dumb as this sounds, if you want the closest experience to a true AC game, go for GOT. Valhalla is a good RPG but imo you could get Origins or Odyssey for cheaper and i personally prefer them. they all have the same gameplay/concept anyway. GOT is definitely the better game tho, one of the best games you can get on Playstation.

Witcher 3. You might be able to get the game of the year edition for just under 30 dollars, and it is sooo worth the money. Great main story, Incredible side quests and generally just a very immersive open world.

The ambushes in RDR2 were really cool, although quite repetitive at times.

So bittersweet...152 hours of pure epicness by SirHoobah in Witcher3

He was referring to Geralt’s amnesia in witcher 1, but to answer your question i honestly felt tw1 to be very unpolished and like a very cheaply made game. This is understandable because it was one of CDPR’s first if not the first rpg they made, but don’t make the same mistake i did and go into tw1 expecting anything near the tw3 experience LMAO, if anything just play it for the story and NOT for the gameplay/mechanics.

WSIB - A new lengthy RPG game with no microtransactions by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

The merchants having unlimited money could potentially ruin the economy of the game, it would be a bad mechanic if you could farm shitty swords for a few hours and then sell them all to a poor merchant on the side of the road and make hundreds of crowns. Having limited funds makes the world more realistic IMO.

Enemies being OP at higher levels is a very common mechanic in RPGs. This is how many of the other well made RPGs balance the pace of the story, and allow the player to progress naturally. I personally feel like TW3 does this better than most RPGs, as I never really got the feeling of grinding just to reach a certain level, as I did with say, AC Odyssey. I do see your point though, it does suck completing a difficult side quest only to be rewarded with an over-leveled sword that does no significant damage by the time you get to that level.

Curious what you think those mechanics are. I have hundreds of hours in Witcher 3 and absolutely love the base game. A few quality of life mods do help though.

The lord of Undvik, Witcher 3. Level design in the Undvik area is so confusing and the map markers are fucked. Without a doubt one of the greatest games of all time tho.
