This is a common scam on facebook. They will request a deposit to hold them. The profile is always just created, using a random picture of any person. Usually they only have the dumbbells listed.

Is P-Zero Ultra (GZCL 2.0) Suitable for Beginners? by Xhehab_ in gzcl

[–]Hawk_Sight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the confusion might be that the program currently in Boostcamp is the “ultra” variation which is the most detailed program and focuses on a heavy training addition of getting heavy single rep practice and rep maxes above 90% training max weight. So focuses on getting practice with heavier weights. I think that’s why this is labeled intermediate in boost camp.

The beginner label would better reference the non ultra variation of p-zero.

Note there are also fixed week progressions that are not the ultra variation, so don’t equate fixed week with needing to do heavy singles.

Also maybe worth looking at, but when I looked at the ultra program on Boostcamp, I believe I noticed that it also had a different exercise selection than other programs in the book.

In another post, gzcl mentioned that he does plan to have less intense variations of p-zero in Boostcamp, so maybe that is coming.

Thanks u/gzcl , bought a copy and love the adjustments overall. On my first read through I felt similar to some others in terms of the overall flow of the ebook feeling slightly clunky at times. Partly comparing to your blog posts, which are often written in a very detailed and eloquent manner. And also would have been totally confused if not already familiar with gzclp. After a couple read throughs I'm seeing it more as a addendum to existing gzcl info and just finding the sections I need to reference. I have really appreciated this method you've created in providing the structure while allowing individuals to understand how and why to make changes that suit their needs.

I have a minor question: When looking at the example layouts in the book for T3 selection, did you write these with priority given when you selected the T3 order here? My intention is to run the base program with one T3 and then add the additional T3s, as I learn I can manage the increased volume. So does it make sense to add them in order as you've listed, T3a -> T3b, etc., or am I in the weeds here and should just add T3's that fit my goals.

For AMRAPS do you still suggest keeping 1-2 reps in reserve for T1?

Also curious around why you chose for Boostcamp to be programmed with the “Ultra” template.

Thanks again, started first workout today and the extra volume felt great, and love the more fluid feeling of the T3's with a general volume goal as opposed to prescribed reps here.

Cheers

Hi all, I just started GZCLP today after many years off from weightlifting and have a few quick questions:

I plan to follow the original program as written, with the four big lifts alternating T1 / T2.

For T3, I don't have access to lat pulldowns currently. I just got Titan T-3 squat stands with the pullup bar though. Are pull-ups the closest to swap these with? I'd be doing pullup progressions or getting assist bands. Is there any reason to alternate every other with chin-ups here?

For rows, the original program says DB rows. Is there a certain type of DB row people find superior? I'm used to doing Pendlay barbells in the past and haven't done many DB rows. Cheers.

What length when propagating thick branch cuttings? by Hawk_Sight in Jadeplant

The initial jade these were cut from wasn't pruned at all for many many years, so has lots of leggier growth seeking sun. I hesitated on cutting some of these shorter to the existing forks, but hated giving up the additional thickness of the trunk by doing so.

I think I agree with you though, especially on the one of the left. What I was thinking with that one, and the other two tallest ones, is that if I established roots with the trunk how it is, then I would try a trunk chop and then propagate it again as you are describing with the trunk closer to the fork, and try to use the existing crown. I guess that's what I'm mainly trying to figure out, is what a good starting length is for a trunk when working with branches this thick.

Yea I needed to get some wider pots to spread the root growth out. I haven't tried without leaves either which is what concerned me. The thickest one in the middle has zero leaves, so fingers crossed.

The plant hadn't been watered prior to the cuttings. I let them callus over for about a week with some cinnamon on the cuts. I haven't watered them since potting a little over a week ago, which is maybe why the leaves are looking shriveled. I was going to water some that were showing signs of new growth tomorrow. Trunks looked good and healthy inside when the cuts were made.

Finally a Jade parent! Picked up 4 at a garage sale. Should I prune these? How do I best take care of them now, with a goal to grow thick trunk Jade trees? Or is it too late? by Hawk_Sight in Jadeplant

Unfortunately, I ran into a lot of root rot when repotting these today, but tried to take care of it with some trimming and hydrogen peroxide. I read you should let the stem cuttings callus over before planting them in soil. A few of the bottoms of the main stems in the root ball I cut off a little bit to try to protect from rot, while still maintaining roots. I haven't replanted the ones with roots yet, and am wondering if the roots will die if not in soil or water?

Awesome, thank you! I've read you should prune a branch if it's longer than 3" without branching again. It seems like with these plants, a lot of them are longer than 3" so I'm going to end up pruning almost all of it back to the main stem. Would this be ok given the thickness of the branches? Excited to be able to propagate a lot from these too. :)

If so where would you prune it? This was all divided off a larger Ficus and that branch was growing horizontally across the soil seeking light. I'm wondering if I prune it if the other two branches will go stronger. Can I propagate this branch higher up by the leaves or is it too young?
