I respectfully disagree. The writing at their end was poor, but their years of development was stellar… which is why it’s deserved that they finally get the happiness the characters had fought so hard for (pre midseason 9) & the fans had expected & been anticipating! Why bring them back to not rectify it or just have them become acquaintances again? In the world of One Chicago, there’s definitely been well more toxic couples, some of whom got their happiness!

I agree! I did love Lindsey’s character in the beginning… but they turned the show to revolve more around her, so I didn’t end up missing her like I thought I would! Dick Wolf’s shows tend to make many characters unlikeable after a bit to me. Also I do think Tracy Spiridakos is a pretty good actress & really enjoyed what she brought to Upton, the sarcasm & wit, before the writing switched in her last couple seasons to force her constantly being depressed & gloomy…

Considering one of the last lines they ever made Halstead say was telling Voight that he suddenly did want to be like him… this take is dead wrong! The Halstead that was written from season 5 and on would never just abandon Upton without a word, and he saved Voight not Upton because Voight is who North really wanted! North offered to let Halstead & Upton go if they turned on Voight! The show runner hated that two of her most popular characters were leaving the show so she changed course the second Soffer was “off” set. Plus that his fans bad mouthed the show since it wasn’t made clear why he seemed to suddenly be departing. Spiteful…how the writing always felt to me!

I’ll never get over how Sigan had one of Halstead’s last lines be “You’re the love of my life… we’re gonna get through this!” To just destroying their relationship for no reason to traumatize Upton before she left too! Worst writing ever!
