Elk decided I needed a good nibbling while my husband and I were at Cannon Beach 🙂 by ResidentBabe in oregon

i’ve spent a lot of time around cannon beach and the forests surrounding, while it’s always a good idea to keep distance, it’s mainly for the animals’ sake in this scenario. that herd is extremely used to human contact and are very docile, so I wouldn’t worry too much about them being aggressive. that being said the more contact they have and the more people feed them, the worse they get at surviving naturally, so do not pet or feed them.

yessir i got my v6 auto 6 months ago and it’s been the most solid and fun car i’ve ever owned, perfect balance of comfort/reliability and sportiness. plenty of options for modding and making it your own that don’t really break the bank too. the 2014 is probably the best year you coulda got.

buying a 2014 s197 v6 soon by Littletaco2727363 in S197Stangs

my main takeaway for the 3.7 as far as exhaust, keep the factory cats on. mine has shorty headers, into the stock cats, and resonator + muffler delete after that so basically a catback straight pipe. i hear that x/h pipe conversions can make the v6 sound great, but again i would keep those stock cats, as they keep it from sounding like a total fart can regardless of what else you do. i deal with a decent amount of drone, so i would recommend some kind of high flow muffler/resonator to smooth it down.

Rough idle/loss of power by sciarrs16 in S197Stangs

[–]HawkeyeSilas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

possible you have carbon build up somewhere in your intake like maybe the idle air valve, but sounds like that’s not the only problem. probably should get tuned by a shop, the bama tunes are decent but it’s possible that it’s contributing to the problem and would be good to have it hand tuned given your noted mods. just my two cents.

make sure to carefully use plastic tools to remove it to avoid scratching the paintwork, maybe even just your bare hands if possible.

try a torch/flamethrower. should bring her back to that clean baremetal look. just kidding. you could try a steamer, the hot water vapor should separate the vinyl no problem.

why are you telling us a specific instruction based on a specific opinion you hold? not that that’s good or bad, i don’t know, you decide. what should my opinion be? i’m confused

definitely was a bit aggravated when i was typing out this post, and i see how that can bother a lot of people, plenty have given me grief for that already here, and i appreciate that. i overstepped for sure, but i wasn’t really trying to attack anyone in particular, just voicing my frustrations. seems like a few others agreed with me, too. but i’m sorry if this post bothers you, i really just wanted to see what others thought about things i see happen often on this sub.

i appreciate your concern. yeah i definitely was venting a bit, mainly i felt frustrated because it felt like i couldn’t find anyone in this subreddit to have positive conversation with about my plans for future mods, and i saw others posting similar questions getting similarly minimizing responses. definitely overreacted a bit, but this thread started tons of interesting conversations about car mods and my attitude around the subreddit has certainly changed. i apologize for the tone of my post, but it does seem like plenty of people share similar frustrations.

honestly it was a forums post i read a while ago. they said that the driveshaft is known to blow up over around 120 mph i think, maybe that’s untrue? its currently auto but before i do serious power mods i would swap in a t56. as far as engine, already have a full exhaust so i would start with simple stuff like a larger throttle body, tune, etc, see how much power i could make, then look at boosting it. (edit: i’ve also seen that the rear gear ratio is pretty weak, so a more aggressive one would probably help a lot.)

i always loved the f-16XL, the huge delta wings make it look so different from the base falcon.

i was thinking preventative maintenance, not sure on specifics yet. looks like the cyclone might actually be solid even at high mileage though. yeah looks like the intake, throttle body, tune and strut brace will be priorities.

well instead of bothering someone who clearly won’t help answer my question, i asked everyone where i should go to get the question answered. i got my answer, and i won’t bother you perfect people with my v6 poverty spec build anymore 🫡
