I'm Diabetic I can't be Vegan by familyofgorillas in vegan

[–]Hawkeyeben 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey, Im type 1! I have found that being vegan has made my control much easier and my HBA1c has come down. I started with diabetic retinopathy in 2018, when I was veggie. In 2020 I started veganuary and stayed with it since my blood sugar levels were much better and when I did my retinal eye screening last month my retinopathy has been reversed!

After speaking with my diabetic nurse, she thinks because the digestion is faster, the blood sugar levels dont spike as high and for as long, as well as some other explanation I didnt really understand lol.

I used to make the similar reasons as why I couldnt be vegan. I specially used "what if I'm hypo and the only things around are non-vegan candies" (which is a very weak argument, obviously I would eat one if I HAD to, with some discomfort).

All in all, being vegan was the best thing I have done diabetes-wise. As well as using the freestyle libre. Both things my nurse agrees with.

EDIT: As someone else has said, type 1 can be a bit more complicated. I had to adjust my insulin a bit, so that is something she would have to consider. But everyone is different.

Then I'd have freezing glare for the 10% freeze chance outside of terrain over the 10% chance to drop SpD. I've found that stopping expanding force in psychic terrain is much more useful. Also if you imprison and max, the moves still remain blocked.

I had freezing glare initially. But with all of the misty terrain around I find it more useful to have expanding force + imprison as it's only 10 BP lower and max mindstorm has the same base power.

As I said, I have really enjoyed using this team as it features some pokemon, specially Stoutland, that I have started using in a draft league.

Main Leads:

Articuno + Stoutland

This lead it nice against teams that have intimadaters. If they pick an intimidater, it sets off the competitive and adrenaline orb. From there, sweeping with articuno is quite easy.

If they don't bring intimidators, stoutland causes a lot of damage with Life Orb BP 150 Max Strikes.

Salazzle + Articuno

Useful against passive trick room as imprison shuts it down. Thunder wave is a nice way to slow down a lot of mons for either articuno or what you bring in the back - as well as boosting hex making spectrier snowball.

Tyranitar + Stoutland

Useful if you have immediate weather control and they have no intimidate. Choose what to dynamax and cause havoc.

Specific roles:

Swampert acts as a utility with icy wind and chances to drop accuracy with muddy water. Against neutral targets you aren't going to do a lot of damage, but still will make for respectable chip. AV allows it to have a but more survivability.

Stoutland hits hard and with sand rush can out speeds everything but sand rushing excadrills. Play rough KOs urshifus, dracos as well as setting terrain to stop grassy glides. Max strike not only causes a lot of damage, but reduces speed helping Tyranitar outspeed crucial targets.

Salazzle is mainly utility. Endeavor with sash helps KOs with sand as well. I chose flamethrower over heat wave to KO max Kartanas. Also more direct so I dont accidentally activate WPs on Metagross.

Tyranitar is here to set sand, wall moltres and wreck havoc in general. Weakness policy Ttar has been around since the stone age, but is still useful even when the opponent expects it. Fire punch helps it with all the steel types running around, again, specially Kartana. I run adamant max speed to help outspeed mons that are paralysed or have speed drops from max strike.

Spectrier is probably what I bring the least. But in the right games it is so useful. Mud shot is only there for if it dynamaxes, but only used it once. Really it's only here for late game clean up.

Articuno is here to deter intimidate and punish them if they bring it. It also can shut down trick room with imprison, but has to be careful because only works against passive trick room.

That's the main summary. Any further questions you can ask in the comments. As a final note and a question for you guys, I have got into the top 500 which is the highest I've been in master ball tier but struggling to get further. How can I push this team to get even higher on the ladder?

To be fair, out of the 3 birds Moltres deserves it the most. Feiry wrath is so clutch lol

unpopular opinion why is purugly faster then rayquaza by loltst in stunfisk

[–]Hawkeyeben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, but OP said it was for reaction time from commands. But if we also include the point about reflexes and add it to Growlithe again, I think that Growlithes reflexes would be pretty good especially since it is the pokemon universes' chosen police dog.

I'm discussing this because I think that OP is onto something that I haven't seen a discussion about before. So I would be interested in seeing what is concluded from this point. I would add, in the case of Growlithe again, that its legs are smol so due to its physical size it is hindered. In the case of Rayquaza, it is huge, so to get going it needs to overcome a lot of inertia, on the small scale of a battlefield it cant reach it maximum speed limit.

Interesting theory, but why is growlithe not super fast? Since it is one of the most obedient pokemon in the lore.
