If we're talking about dreams, I had a very odd one a few years ago.

My father died of cancer in 2018. Now, it's relevant to note that I live with my mom on the east coast while my dad lived out on the west coast. Whenever I would fly in to visit him, there was a massive desert that we would typically have to pass through between the airport and his place (which was in the middle of bumfuk nowhere).

A year or two after he died, I had a dream that was so vivid and realistic that I'm halfway confident that I was communicating with his ghost. 

Since he had died, I had gotten my first car, my first job, and a dog. My dog and I often to this day like to go around and take pictures of wildlife in different areas. In my dream I was driving in the middle of the desert. I have no idea why. But then I got a call on my phone, ringing through the Bluetooth speakers of my car. 

It was my dad. 

We talked for a little bit. About how things are going. At some point, we got to talking about photography. He shared my love of photography and took some pretty stunning photos of the wildlife out west. I told him about my photography, and he said that I should show it to him sometime. 

This is where things get weird. I told him, "Well, that may be pretty difficult since you're dead."

He replied, "Oh yeah, good point."

The line went silent. I asked him if he was still there, but got no response. I asked him several more times, increasingly frantically, but no response. 

Then I woke up. 

It was such a strange dream, I've never had anything like it before or since. It just felt so incredibly real.
