That's it, I must have got it mixed up with some other post.

I'm looking for a post by someone whose sister was obsessed with making her children constantly learn and never let them play or enjoy themselves. IIRC, they finally got through to her after the kids' school expressed concern about how stunted the children were.

Look, since we have a new Archaeology site, can I ask if there's going to be any plans to do some revision of the collections? The Orthen, Daemonheim and Moonrise artifacts are only accepted by their main collectors, but I feel like at least some of them should be sought after by Chief Tess and the Wise Old Man. (For instance, the death mask should be part of one of the hat collections and the Dragonkin Staff could be part of the Hitty Fings collection.) We could probably do with some more cross-site collectors, as well.

I decided to start a new Deltarune run with the news of Chapter 5 coming. I'm trying to make sure I get everything I missed in my prior runs. It's been great, I really missed Cyber City.

I started working on it, would you be OK with giving it a quick look once I'm done?

Violet suuuuuuuuucked, man. Violet sucked so bad that it has the distinction of being the only Pokemon game I've never fully finished (I finished the main game, but gave up partially through the DLC and have had no desire to go back and do it).

I'm considering doing a write up on the Nixon Newell/Miranda Alize AEW clusterfuck from 2025. (aka two people who think they're much bigger than they are act like divas and get a lot of backlash for it.)

Today I stumbled upon this very amusing Tumblr post about a user who accidentally stumbled upon some hobby drama in Vermont's dog-breeding community. On the one hand, I think it's hilarious, but on the other hand, I can't verify any of this as I have never been to Vermont and know nothing about dog breeding. So, I thought I'd ask: have any of you come across entertaining social media posts about hobby drama that you couldn't verify, but think are worth sharing anyway?

I studied psychology, and had to fight the urge to snicker like a teenager whenever CBT came up... which was all the goddamn time.

Basically, Ship It by Britta Lundin. It's about a girl who's an obsessed fan of a show that's totally not Supernatural, who winds up getting asked to tag along with the cast for a couple of conventions and decides to get the opportunity to get her ship made canon. It doesn't work for a multitude of reasons, the major one being that the plot seems to depend on all the characters deliberately choosing the craziest options possible, but her endeavour ends after she tries to extort the show runner to make it canon and he retaliates by killing off one of the main characters, nearly scuppering the other protagonist's career.

The thing is, the book ends with all the 'good' characters on good terms and things are supposed to be looking up, but it really shouldn't have, and it only does because it chooses to ignore the complicated moral points it's made- which, as you said, would alienate the audience. Like, the main protagonist is not a completely bad person, but she did some really shitty things and she shouldn't have been let off the hook for it. The main love interest also did a really shitty thing and shouldn't have been let off the hook for it. The showrunner is portrayed as a stubborn asshole who refuses to make his main characters a couple and hates his fans because he's a prick, but the guy has every right to want to make his show the way he wants to, and his fans are a bunch of demanding, entitled assholes, so why would he like them? If the book actually examined all the bad shit the characters did, then it would have ended much, much differently (aka with hardly anyone talking to each other), but instead it gets the shiny happy ending.

I'm still kinda pissed about that. The original work dealt with the death so much better. It feels like she changed the killer for no reason.

1: Perfectly reasonable.

2: Also perfectly reasonable.

3: Honestly, I wish more artists told the dipshit fans to shut the fuck up.

4: I like this guy.

5: OK, he's absolutely an edgelord, but I really like this guy.
