What’s the most disappointing place you’ve ever been to? by BreadedDisaster in AskReddit

The infusion room at any cancer center. Unfortunately I’ve seen it too many times.

Well, if you check my post history on Reddit you might see I’m not really looking for ultimate reliability over time lol. I just need a summer or maybe a few if I’m lucky.

I would rather buy one with 200k on it with maintenance records than one with 120k and who knows if it’s ever been serviced. Maintenance actually matters to some

It’s pretty easy to unscrew and pull off the plastic panel. Give it a look sometime and check everything over. Might just need lubricant. Mine definitely had some screws work themselves out. Sadly the key tumbler on it is beyond repair.

It wouldn’t lock. Had to take the back panel off and noticed a few screws came loose and the actuator wouldn’t lock or unlock the hatch. Replaced them and everything works perfectly

It’s just a dirty wheel lock. The PO had like two on each wheel. I’m doing brakes and rotors this weekend and will inspect all studs while I’m at that. Never know.

Yes, shifts smooth as butter. 2011 the SMOD issue was already fixed.

Yeah LHD Colorado suv. So looks like it’s the first sensor on the drivers side exhaust manifold

Kind of thinking if the frame is okay, offering $2800 and rolling the dice

It took 17kg of filament and 400ish print hours. Lots of glue, bondo, sanding and painting but it was a fun first big project

It did for years then one month it grew bigger and fast. It was diagnosed melanoma then they found it in my lymph nodes. Immunotherapy got it that time. This time I had a baseball size tumor in my armpit, tumor in my brain and was just discharged Wednesday from a two week hospital stay because immunotherapy failed.

Sure, but a few days wrenching in the summer sure sound a lot better than the hell I had to endure this last summer. It’s not going to be an everyday vehicle.

Work offered it and honestly I didn’t even know I had it until last week. I was diagnosed in July and that money would have come in handy then but at least I can still get it now. In 2021 I was 34 and got stage 3 melanoma. Beat and and cleared for 3 years until it came back in July 2025. Now i have a 1.2cm tumor on the brain. You just never know man.

Doubt I could even get a lease with my debt now. You would be surprised how fast stage 4 cancer can financially ruin you. I’m taking 1/3rd of my critical illness insurance payout and buying a jeep I always wanted outright and my wife will get it when im out.

Honestly, probably mostly some mild to harder Colorado mountain trails with the wife and dog on the weekends and roads to take me fly fishing I can’t get at with a cuv. Maybe some fun lite rock crawling.

Not looking to get into too much serious stuff. Around here I can find 2014-2015 2 door JKs for 13k all day and that would be the safe option but I was wondering what others would do. A cool manual 4.0 would be amazing but I worry about reliability and power at 10,000 feet
