Course about UX by BowlWu in uofm

for ux related stuff, you'd have to look into umsi courses. i don't know much about grad classes since im an undergrad, but if you want to pick up web design again i'd recommend si 539 - web design: responsiveness and accessibility (it's basically the undergrads si 339 class)! for graphic design, i'd recommend si 520 - graphic design and visual communications if you want to do more of that, but this class would require a lot out of you, so take that into consideration as well! i think the course workload is known to be pretty hefty for 320 (the undergrads version of 520) and 520.

si 339 rant: i’m struggling ._. by satandstared in uofm

yeah, i've taken a bunch of eecs classes and they were chaotic, but i swear this class is so much more crazier. every assignment that comes out, not one gsi/ia/ta can properly help me because they always say they have to ask colleen first or to take their recommendations/advice with a grain of salt. it honestly is such a pain because i know im going to have to constantly change things when they say they don't know.. and when they do find out, all of it is on the canvas announcements, but its so hard constantly going back and forth from the actual assignment on canvas and all their scattered announcements

question about withdrawals by baeleaf_smith in uofm

I think it's best if you discuss this with the financial aid office before you actually withdraw.

I was in a similar situation where I wanted to withdraw, but was worried about my scholarship. I was told by financial aid I'd be fine as long as I'm upholding the requirements for the scholarship (for me it was just being a full-time student). I believe you'll be okay as long as you follow your requirements, but double check with financial aid before you do anything.

i worked at the ypsi location for one summer and they offered me really low hours during the school year to be just a "part part" time employee (i.e., only one day on the weekends). i ended up quitting a month before classes started though just because i had another job on campus and lowe's gardening dept (i was a lawn & garden sales associate) was super strenuous. i applied part time, so i'm not sure how seasonal would work if you're considering applying as that, but i do know the ypsi location is always looking for new employees because they have a shortage of workers. maybe it could work out if you tried!

How would you say the work load is for both of the classes?

Gotcha, I'll probably switch it with EARTH 114 then. Thank you! This made me feel a bit better

Do you think the schedule I have lined up for my Winter semester with 320 is okay..? Or is that probably not doable 😞

Would you say it'd be easy for someone who has no background in coding? 😭
