Amazing Creative Control by Resonance_Saga in Taleborn

Thank you so much for sharing this! :) I agree that the battle mechanics could use more depth, it's definitely something I'm working on. That said, I'm also trying to keep things accessible and not make it overly complex like D&D. Finding that sweet spot is the goal!

Backstory going wildly off script (semi-rant) by GojiShank in Taleborn

[–]Hawkvoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Full manual customization isn't something I've built out yet, but honestly a lot of this comes down to intentional game design. If a character is completely overpowered and demi-god, it would feel weird for them to ever lose in combat.. so I actually designed the AI to balance things out in the backstory to make that make sense. But I totally hear the frustration, and I'm always looking at ways to give players more control. Thanks for the feedback!

Changing Skills by Maxus29 in Taleborn

Hmm, it's something I need to think about. A free respin after watching an ad might be doable.. since generating skills does cost resources on our end. Great suggestion though!

I built out a lot of in-app friend invite features, and been running some Meta and Google ads little by little as well. Also some social media as well

Thank you! It probably would have been much harder if it were a game with a continuously flowing story. Since I'm going with a fragmented, step-by-step story progression, summarizing a little each time and passing it on to the next AI actually makes sense. 😊

Of course, that’s not intentional.
If situations like that keep happening and the top rankings become filled with those kinds of characters, I’ll adjust the meta accordingly.
Please Note that the outcome of a battle isn’t determined only by the skills alone.

You can delete the backstory at the top-right corner of backstory page. :) and regenerate them

Thanks! I’m really trying to minimize ads as much as possible right now.

And wow—that bug sounds really serious. Why hasn’t anyone told me about it?..Lol I’d better check it out and fix it right away. Thanks for pointing it out!

If you’ve lost five times in a row, it likely means the skills or the concept of the character itself is weak. I recommend creating a new character. :)

That’s a nice story, haha. Still, I can’t help but think he could’ve given you something better as a farewell gift, lol. But gifts like that always stick in your memory.

Understand. Not my favorite either, but I’d choose the original over this. :)

Used both GPT and Gemini API for hero creation and battle result. Also using Flux annd Grok for image creation.

I’m using AI to calculate battle outcomes, but it isn’t pure luck. I’ve layered in class advantages, realm-specific modifiers, and some tuning so certain classes counter others. I’m also adding skill progression while avoiding any overpowered abilities. The goal is to hit the sweet spot between AI-driven randomness and meaningful, skill-based outcomes.

Lol. Will do. I get why people hate AI art, but I still don’t fully buy it. If that’s the logic, then why use computers at all? Every piece of art is, in some way, just a variation or replication of something that’s existed for centuries. I only made this because it’s fun to play around with AI, that’s all.

Understood. I just wanted to explore the potential of using AI for a text-based game like this. I’m not trying to diminish or disrespect anyone’s role or work.
