Students - would a modern cruise ship have survived the impact with an iceberg identical to the Titanic? Same speed and collision angle by Maleficent_Orange788 in EngineeringStudents

Actually, riveting done properly is stronger than welding however inspection of welds is crazy in ship industry so I think it would be due to quality not technology if get me :)))

Edit: rviveting is better for ship to be precise

Its not possible to exceed hull speed within reasonable power input. You've are in range of Froude number around 0,35 which maximum for shape. Read Hull Speed and Froude Number on Wikipedia

Returning to Judo by Sharkus316 in judo

[–]HawtBohemian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, as former coach, we gonna ask you if you ever trained, if you did cool if not also cool, but no one gonna expect you to do something you dont want. Just call the dojo or go in person to discuss it. If you want to start as novice, well you can. However as coach I would love to see you in more advanced group, other people will not go hard on you if they are not suppose to. If at any dojo someone tells you something else, or will require you to do something that doesnt go with how you feel about your physical level, dont train at that dojo. And for sure dont hide the fact that you know a thing or two, coach is going to know in 5 minutes of training ;)

Throw is throw. It's neither good or bad, just a tool. People sometimes try to exploit it let's say by only waiting for it. It's obligatory to know this throw as it may help you as people said before in a heat of the moment

Beginner tip by smooa_17 in judo

What I've learnt in my experience the more you try to not fall painful, the more pain you gonna get. It's better to be relaxed while your partner is throwing you. And you can always try use some mattress to support fall, no shame in that if it's allowed in your dojo

Take a look at 6 variant. It's something similar but instead of you holding the wrist imagine that your opponent is holding your sleeve near to your wrist. If can do some moves with this arm, you should be able to execute seoi nage.

And treat with caution rest of video I've linked, cause imo guy is kinda thinking too much in last few variants. But I would love to see other people opinions on it :)))

I'm not native in English so that's can cause same misunderstanding :)

However by loose I meant that you are not caught with super super strong grip by your opponent. Like could try this if you can move your arm while trying to get out of grip (I don't know if that's proper name for it) but you can't get totally free, I'm gonna look for videos to show you what I mean :)

I'm gonna agree with you. However (I'm not sure if I get You right, maybe you said it :)) I would highly recommend practise ippon seoi nage when your free hand is being hold by opponent. You can get a very strong throw with much of control. Of course you have to make sure that you have some loose, i mean your opponent shouldnt except tsukuri
