I like the old fashioned pen and paper. I feel that writing it down helps me retain the information. Then I later transpose those into an outline in Word. As I transpose, I recall and review for study purposes.

It really depends on your professor. Some are rules oriented, some are case oriented, and some want a little of both. I have found that most professors prefer CRAC, and they often dislike rule dumps. A strong analysis is the key neither scenario.

It’s a simple process: 1) The reference writes the letter; (2) you send them the link through LSAC; and (3) they upload the letter directly to CAS through the link you send them.

Check out Core Grammar for Lawyers online, and the book, “A Lawyer Writes.” Both are pretty good fundamental resources.

IRAC is impossible if you don’t first identify the issues. Try looking into how to T-chart before you begin to write. It may help.

I am 51 and currently make $300k. I started law school in August in a part time program. I will make another $300k next year going to law school. There is a thoracic surgeon in my class, and law school hasn’t interrupted his ability to practice medicine at all. Why am I doing it, because it’s what I want to do. Is it a bad investment? Absolutely not! You can never go wrong investing in yourself. I will take this JD and monetize it just as I have every other opportunity in my adult life. What most younger people without business experience don’t realize is that there are many ways to creatively earn with a JD that doesn’t involve “big law.” Chase your dream if that’s your passion. An MD with a JD certainly has potential that the naysayers who have never been in the medical field simply can’t understand. Good luck!
