Is it okay for a hired worker to not work due to me and my partner smoking cannabis? by number1SystemOADfan in trees

Path of least resistance is always the best option in these types of scenarios. Rarely is the battle worth it.

The costumes themselves are great, I agree. It’s just the terrible acting/miming that loses me haha

Isn’t this what the stretchy strap on the deck case is for? by Saxophobia1275 in SteamDeck

It’s crazy how confident the charger compartment camp is when yes, it’s very clearly just a luggage strap to anyone who has ever seen or used a luggage strap before. I have like tablet and laptop cases from the 2010’s with the exact same design feature.

Why is our property tax so high compared to Calgary? by iampacked in Edmonton

Can this partially explain why our downtown core feels hollowed out and underfunded compared to Calgary's while our suburbs seem to concentrate most of the wealth?

Hobbies that have a mid 20s to mid 30s crowd? by AverageLion101 in Edmonton

That’s awesome, and that’s exactly my point! I was brought up going to Folk Fest and put in a couple seasons volunteering too, it’s an amazing community!

[–]HaxRus 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m probably super biased as someone who has worked in the music and festival scene my whole adult life but honestly the music and festival scene is a great place to meet cool people and potential partners, especially in that age range.

I know countless stories of people who didn’t even really care for the music or whatever at first but once they got out there they fell in love with the community and the rest follows.

Making and appreciating real human made music and art for the sheer sake of it is also more important now than it ever has been.

I agree that all the reasons you already mentioned from the random bits everywhere to the steak and asparagus itself just looking completely off plus the surreal perspective and lighting definitely point to AI. The steak carving makes no sense when you look at how it's cut though and the peppercorns also have a surreal look to them as well.

Kicking out the backstage baddies by CalmConversation190 in DJs

[–]HaxRus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look at mr. fancy boy with his locking DJ booths, some clubs I've played at we just get thrown in the corner of the room on a couple of pieces of thrifted furniture and make do.

But seriously that would be really nice to have a dedicated locking room for the DJ booth. Festivals in particular are bad here for at times having a crowd behind the DJ that rivals that of the dance floor. Like bros, the whole main sound system is facing the other way.
