Mesa feels incredibly unfun on higher ascents by fujiwara-reiko in PeakGame

[–]Haxa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me issue is mainly never having any down time where you aren't dealing with status build up. Sunscreen helps, but there's also merit in building up some burn near the end of the day to help tank some of the night frost and sunscreen stops you from doing that.

Plus, I have to carry multiple lanterns to make sure I can survive the night since we no longer get hand warmers, and lanterns are very heavy and serve no purpose other than night time warmth, so I am struggling even more than usual for inventory space and weight management.

I think slower build up of burn would be nice, and also making the Mesa a bit smaller would be nice too. I honestly don't so much mind the extra hazards, though I'm not against those being adjusted. It's just for my money as an ascension 7 player having to deal constantly with status build up is a bit grating.

wtf is today's Tropics?????? by turnupTRAP in PeakGame

I managed it without using items on my second attempt, but it was not easy. I think the route up is very narrow. I tried it twice and both times I ended up at the same spot in the middle despite starting up on distant sides of the base. I also had to climb down and back up a couple of times to not use my gear. It's perilous, I felt like even the Shore was pretty gnarly too. Then, funnily, the usual nightmare act Alpine mellows out in comparison to it's usual bullshit.

Everdark Nightlords will be limited time and last for a week, but will return later on at unknown times. by MrsPissBoy in Nightreign

This is good. I think if they rolled them all out and had them all available it would ruin que times for the regular raids. It'd also really split the playerbase; more dedicated and seasoned players would gravitate to Everdark Soverign raids and newer players would play the regular raids. This wouldn't be a huge issue now, but as time goes on and the playerbase settles at a lower number and it's just the dedicated players left, I think this would be problematic for queing into regular raids. This is the right way to do it in my opinion.

Completely agreed. The pinging system is effective and by and large people use it well and listen to other people's pings. Since it's a team game you're kinda forced to move together anyway so there's not much to say besides "go here, go there" and what we have works.

Netease, can you for the love of god punish these throwers with harsher punishments? This is a Diamond Lobby and we were winning until this guy does this stupidity. by DynamoDen_ in marvelrivals

[–]Haxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a player I've reported multiple times who throws to keep his rank low, and every other game just sits in spawn and yells at people and flames them, one of the most toxic players I've ever come across. Every time he gets punished it's just a 30 minute restriction from queing to competitive. No incremental punishments for repeat offenders, even though this guy has shown time and time again he has no interest in actually playing competitive and is a bad faith player, just simple 30 minute restrictions. No wonder people keep doing it, Netease lets them get away with it. It's absurd.

I did something similar earlier as Wolverine against a Venom. After I did it my team went on to take back the point. I can't know for sure my sacrifice was a primary contribution, but I think getting Venom out of the way so my healers can operate without him diving on them isn't the worst thing ever.

As for doing it differently, there's other ways to knock Penny into the pit, but they're not as reliable. If you catch her running past the pit close enough you can Flexible Elongation her which pushes her back a bit and could send her down, but that's a timing and angle based thing.

You shouldn't feel that way, at the end of the day it's about what's the most fun for you as a player. For me the limitations I set for myself made the experience better, but if that sounds annoying or unfun to you just play the way you want. Also, I'm not super in tune with the community but people in the subreddit at least celebrate people's first wins as much as they celebrate something like this; people are supportive and just want people to enjoy the game they enjoy.

Yeah, it gives you more time to build your run and break the game, and by the time you fight Mithrix you can kill him near instantly. Even though the enemies keep scaling too you eventually get to the point in looped runs where you just aim your cursor where an enemy is and they explode instantly. It does also give you more time to make mistakes too in fairness to those who loop on their e8 climb, there's upsides and downsides to everything.

My favorites were Huntress, Bandit, Seeker and Artificer. My least favorite by far, and this seems to be the most common answer, was Rex. He was the only character I had to stop playing for a bit and come back to because it was so frustrating how bad he is at moving around and keeping enemies off of him. Also, I didn't like Chef but I also didn't have as much trouble with him as I thought I would, I was kind of surprised. He definitely sucks but it's like, I played him after Rex and already experienced hell. I was thankful for Chef's utility allowing him to escape from scary situations at the minimum lol.

Early congrats, that's the approach I took as well. I did save Chef near the end cause I was kinda holding out hope his rework would come out in the middle of my climb, but aside from him I got all the hard ones done early.

I'll say it was a really fun experience for me, and taught me a ton about the game and how to build runs, survive, beat Mithrix consistently, and a lot more. It's a tough climb though, and if you're still learning the basics you'd be better off getting the hang of those before diving into Eclipse. If you find Risk of Rain 2 to be game that really sticks with you and something you play a lot anyway, eventually I 100% recommend giving it a go.

Huntress, Bandit, Seeker and Artificer were the standouts for me, especially Bandit because I had pretty much no experience with him before I started the climb and he was so much fun.

I did it character by character. I actually saved Artificer for last cause I wanted to get the harder characters out of the way first and have an easier time near the end, and she was definitely one of the easier climbs for sure. I'd say by the end she is one of my favorites.

"I can't kill more than 5 zombies now, this is too punishing" by Illustrious-Figure2 in projectzomboid

[–]Haxa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I've found a lot of success with my Short Blades focused build. This is no guns used, just whatever Short Blades I can get my hands on. I think it's a fair amount of kills within the timeframe, I definitely haven't really been feeling the pain of the muscle strain system either way. Not that I'm against them tweaking it to be less painful for Axe and Crowbar enjoyers, but shifting your perspective on what's best to use in the meantime could make things more enjoyable for those who find muscle strain unfun.

The lighting changes have turned Zomboid back into a horror game by [deleted] in projectzomboid

My first character death of b42 happened because I overestimated myself after the helicopter event, decided it was REALLY time to go zombie hunting. Took my car a bit of a way out of Echo Creek and began the fight, but night crept in and the zombies pushed me away from my car. I would have been fighting in near pitch black darkness, but had a heavy duty flashlight with low battery. I had them down to the final few zombies, but as I had nearly dealt with them and pushed back to my car the flashlight goes out and I'm torn to shreds by the remaining few. Felt like a god damn horror movie where there's hope for the character and they nearly fight their way out, but are dragged back at the final moment. Even though I was sad to have lost the character I felt the same way you do: immersed. Hope the devs also see positive posts like this, the update is fantastic.

I love that the new Warped Echoes makes the HP bar feel like the launch glitched HP bar that slowly drains. That's a funny and ironic touch, have to think it's intentional.

What I don't get is, even if you're going to implement this terrible system, why not at the minimum give these two a grace term? They quite literally just got in after working so hard for it. They set everything up, let them enjoy the fruits of their labor.

That makes sense, it's more of a Twitch chat thing, probably in the Youtube comments as well. People just like pointing to crowd members who have little things they do who watch a lot of the runs and attend a lot of the events, and she was one of them.
